Artist Spotlight: Adele Lazzeri at @hyphastudios   ‘Land(e)scapes 2’ 4th Sept → 12th Oct 2025  Hypha Studios Marble Arch, 15 Great Cumberland Pl, London W1H 7DS @adelelazzeri is a multidisciplinary sculptor with a background in both art and philosophy. Her practice is grounded in a sustained engagement with material transformation. She constructs environments by working directly with the mechanics of matter, both physical and digital. Following postgraduate studies at the Centre for Research of Modern European Philosophy (CRMEP), her work draws on Schelling’s Philosophy of Nature, Kant’s early cosmologies, and the development of sculpture as a geological-philosophical act. Thanks to those who joined us for the fourth year of the annual Pragmata Summer Show, which featured the work of artists @adelelazzeri , @erosamon , @paulasmolarska , @janetteparris , @thorpdavi , and @t0bytobiaskidd . Pic 6: Paula Smolarska - A Woman Room. 2025. Detail. Pic 7: Event - special thanks to @robinklassnik @mattsgallerylondon for being a great guest (and the chairs). This is a home. On that day, it became another thing involving art and people. Many of the best art spaces have been multifunctional. Much of the best art has been non-functional. We hoped you found this event somewhat dysfunctional. David Thorp created a multi-timbral sound installation incorporating the banjo and William S. Burroughs. Janette Parris presented a song as a medium to investigate the changing high street, performed by two singers, while Emily Rosamond offered a participatory performance that took the form of a live choreography and movement class. Paula Smolarska contributed a sculptural perspective through a series of cast letters in a ‘cold case’ space, and Adele Lazzeri presented a sculpture/painting installation that refracted poetry through UV rays. Meanwhile, Toby Tobias Kidd laid out a sequence of engraved poems underfoot, developed through a ritualistic daily practice in the lead-up to the show, offering glimpses of life beyond the fence. The Pragmata Collective is an experimental micro-institution of artists Adele Lazzeri and Toby Tobias Kidd, staging art events and interventions that experimented with form and process.

Adele Lazzeri & Toby Tobias Kidd present silent gameplay video BRAIN ROT a collaborative video artwork performance with live score performed by the artists alongside special guest musicians. Part of an ongoing collaborative work developed over a number of residencies across the UK, Ireland, and Italy, the piece uses digitised sculptures to build a landscape explored by our ‘player’ cube in the manner of the contemporary open world game streamers, with a series of narrative text prompts that mirror the cryptic clues of the Dizzy Egg games of the 8bit platformers. Soundtracked by four live musicians playing sculpture-synth, guitar, saxophone, and sampler semi-improvising these musicians will be reacting to painted graphic scores set across four strips of canvas. This will be performed as part of the INFLUXX ASSEMBLY inaugural event at CAFE OTO on 20th JULY 2025. Please get your tickets early to avoid sadness, link in bio. Also playing on the night are a number of exceptional artists, including: @deesada1 & @massimoparamour plus guests @yukako_tanaka_ @tru_romank @_subsignal @saom_ldn @influxxassembly

Each year, as PRAGMATA, we organise a summer exhibition event that asks a selection of artists to present new work that explores new territories for them, something that feels exciting and outside their comfort zone. Here is a small selection of documentation from the event. We prioritise the relation of being in the moment and with the art, but you will hopefully enjoy a glimpse into the atmosphere and the work presented. Thanks again to the artists and guests for their generous spirit and time in being part of the PRAGMATA Summer Show this year. It is an important part of our artistic vision and something that we hope to see develop over the years. Artists: @adelelazzeri , Alex Parry, Mark Applegate, @sadie_edginton , @shepadimusgotnopliers , @shirabar91 , @t0bytobiaskidd Pic 1 - it started getting darker Pic 2 - Adele Lazzeri 'Garden Rock' with Shir Bar work in background. Last night, under the guidance of the solar cycle, some of us became robots, others got a taste of asteroid. Who would’ve thought! Thank you to everyone who joined us for the wonderful evening of performances by exhibiting artists Toby Tobias Kidd, Adele Lazzeri, and Yukako Tanaka. It was such an incredible adventure of music, words, and flavour! To our pleasure, this journey will continue for a little longer, with our group show Speculative Land(e)scapes extending until 21st August 2024. Come and see it before the summer ends! 💥Exhibition announcement 💥PV Thursday 20th June - you‘re invited!💥 ‘Speculative Land(e)scapes’, featuring new and recent works by artists Paola Estrella, A B Fresh, Serena Huang, Toby Tobias Kidd, Adele Lazzeri, and Yukako Tanaka. The group exhibition commences alongside the opening of Kensington and Chelsea Arts Week 2024 (@kcawlondon ) on 21st June, and will be on view until 2nd August, 2024. The exhibition invites the six artists, who have previously shown together as the Pragmata Performance Group (@thepragmatacollective ), to move away from their usual performance-based collective practice, and instead visit their diverse interests and intersections of research in the territory of image and object. The works on view map their shared interests in critical and conceptual approaches across textiles, printmaking, paper, and paint. From thousand years ago in Mexico, to the lost islands within lost lands of Southeast Asia and Southern Europe; archeological archives of peat fields, to a humble London garden; and the Theory of Evolution to a single line of an imaginary map. ‘Speculative Land(e)scapes’ presents an exploration across realms of fictions, facts, and the imaginary. Opening night | Thursday 20th June 2024 6 - 8 PM, SILIAN GALLERY 434 KING’S ROAD, CHELSEA LONDON, SW10 0LJ @silian_gallery Artists: @py_star @arieh.eh @serena_______h @t0bytobiaskidd @adelelazzeri @yukako_tanaka_
