Along the mountainside of Villa Kujoyama, a path was built to serve the six artists’ studios.
The paving evokes the sound frequencies of the semi (蝉, cicadas) that inhabit the surrounding forest, recorded by @krikorparis . Stones reclaimed from various origins and selected to create a specific rhythm pay tribute to the cicadas’ short life cycle.
This intervention is part of a broader project initiated by Director Adèle Fremolle, which aims to rethink and rehabilitate the villa’s outdoor spaces in response to new uses and climate-related challenges.
