Last week, Jester welcomed a new cohort of photography students from LUCA School of Arts to activate the exhibition 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘸. Guided by artist Ada Van Hoorebeke, the students collaborated on a new series of textile works while exploring her madder root dye technique. As a concluding gesture, these textiles will be temporarily presented at the LUCA campus, where a fragment of 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘸 takes root. Onder begeleiding van kunstenaar Ada Van Hoorebeke werkten de studenten samen aan een nieuwe reeks textielwerken, terwijl ze haar meekrapverftechniek verkenden. Als afsluiting zullen deze textielwerken tijdelijk worden tentoongesteld op de LUCA-campus, waar een fragment van 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘸 wortel schiet. Today 21/09 is the last day to visit ‘it will come from below’ by Junghun Kim an Ada Van Hoorebeke. Here I add some pictures from the activation of my installation: ‘Madder Routines’ 2025 with the students of Luca C-Mine. We harvested red roots from the madder dye plant, grown in the belly of Body Plant -sculptures. And, believe it or not their contact print turned into vains and pelvic bone -designs on fabric. Echoing our works @k_junghun_ybj in this constellation. Magical moments to end this show at the start of a first academic year, close to the autumn equinox where day is as long as the night everywhere on earth.
