More than 700,000 skilled trades workers are projected to retire by 2028, increasing demand across construction, transport and related sectors. Research from the Diversity Institute and @environics.institute , funded by @fsc_ccf , found 64% of Black respondents were more likely than average to recommend trade school or apprenticeship pathways over university. At the same time, many Black youth report limited access to employer networks and knowledge about certification systems. ADaPT for Black Youth starts with where the jobs are, aligning training with labour market demand. As Dr. Mohamed Elmi explains, “We work to translate evidence into action and strengthen training pathways into high growth sectors for Black youth.” Read more about our work at the Umoja Series event: 👉 https://bit.ly/4rRYUXG #SkilledTrades #LabourMarket #WorkforceDevelopment
