Fugue Gallery is pleased to introduce Adam Choi Nordby as a guest curator for our upcoming exhibition - Reflective Glass. Today (1/26/26) is the last day to submit works to the Open Call. Link in bio! Adam Choi Nordby is Korean-Norwegian writer, lens-based artist, and mechanical engineer based in NYC. His artistic practice is rooted in the examination of personal and collective identity, peering past the walls we’ve created for ourselves and others. Exploring the connective tissue of the human experience through the themes of time, wounds, and healing, Adam investigates the Asian American experience, the scars created by imperialism, and the alienation of xenophobia. Through his work, Adam bridges art and science to create collaborative avenues that seek to heal ailing wounds — physical, persistently invisible, and generational. “When it comes to creative articulation, I often struggle saying exactly what I’m thinking or feeling and so, for me, art represents translation - a navigational tool that succeeds where the stringing of words fail in the labyrinthian web of the unconscious. Art can be a mirror or a telescope, a way to examine the corporeal frameworks that are visible to the naked eye and to discern the indescribable, faraway, and lingering. Though I try to write to the best of my ability, I find that using light and color (and lack thereof) allow me to wrestle form out of the immaterial language of the heart. With photography, poetry, or personal style expression I aim to explore the connective tissue of the human experience through art and science. Where science is the act of discovery and structuring frameworks to iterate upon, art interprets and expands convention into revelation.” - Adam Choi Nordby Artist: @adamnordby

"Imaginary Ceilings" Presenting Artists Feature: Lends based artist, writer & engineer Adam Nordby @adamnordby curated by Worlds Through Minds' curator Macy Castaneda Lee, @llizwood & @mengwencao @sunsetstudio.love Interested in creatively exploring personal and societal relationship with cultural identity, politics of fashion, nuclearization and imperialism, xenophobia, and bridging art and science to form bonds in the community that educate, innovate, and uplift the collective for collaborative coexistence and continued survival. About their image: "The photo I've selected are stages of atomic destruction with the fencing acting as fresh stitches, and the subsequent maelstrom and fallout - a nuclear winter. As an Asian American, I'm constantly fascinated by, interacting with, and reflecting on the wounds created by nuclearization and being born in its birthplace. This ontological firmament is what shaped my childhood and adulthood and continues to bridge violence and xenophobia in New Mexico, and beyond, every day." Catch their work up at @fugue_gallery , currently showing via "Imaginary Ceilings" #WTMTalks
