Not sure how long #Reaper has had this feature, but I just discovered you can now add a loudness readout over your waveform display. Pretty cool feature and will be very handy in immediately knowing where the loudest moment of the song is. It can be set to a momentary or short term LUFS measurement. Nice!
My old band got together last night to celebrate releasing a few tunes we finally finished - it only took 4 something years, and that’s after another 15-ish year break 😂 Anyway, if you wanna check out the tunes, search for Fires of Atlas on your streaming platform of choice and check out our EP called Trail.
Grateful I’ve spent many years of my life able to call this my work. The day to day can feel like a grind, so it’s good to stop and celebrate how far things have come.

Something I’ve enjoyed a lot this summer has been taking time to enjoy other creative arts in between mastering. It’s a great way to put your brain in a different gear and I find it fuels my passion for my other interests. Creativity begets creativity! What’s something you enjoy doing besides your main gig?
Working “remote” from my living room, bouncing out stems on a documentary I just got approval on. Been fun mixing in some film projects in with a lot of mastering!
As you can see, Lee is a terrible quality assurance baby. Might have to demote him to naps and snacks only…
While I primarily work with mastering music, I also take on occasional Post Audio work, like this project, as the Re-recording mixer for the fantastic film, @wrwr_film
