Lost in the green gloom of the Otways. Cruddy plastic lens blurs the lines, makes the world feel like a fever dream. Maybe it is. Trying to find truth in the shadows. Trying to reconnect with the earth.
The Otways. Off Grid and real. Dusty tracks, towering gums, the smell of damp earth. @kathhmandugear hooked us up with their carrier, and my Wolf, he was up high and king of the forest. No distractions, no screens, just eyes wide, taking it all in. Maybe he gets it, the wild beauty. A little peace in the chaos. A little magic in the mundane. Rekindling connection. A bit of wholesome indulgence. the Otways. Not bad. Not bad at all.

We’ve faced a plague of rats during a freezing cold snap.
We’ve had a possum sneak in through a top-level window, scratching your back, and leave you sleeping with a golf club and your hoodie pulled tight.
We’ve tackled the chaos of a guide getting us lost, working together into the early hours of the morning to figure it out.
We’ve slept under full moons, stretched out on the beach with friends around us, soaking in the beauty of the simplicity.
Sung our hearts out in a troopie as it rumbled through a dry riverbed.
Belted out karaoke in Hobart ,on a Monday night, after a week hiking (your musical talents = incredible).
These memories barely scratch the surface of what it’s been like adventuring and working alongside you.
Happy 40th, my friend. You’re in your prime, mate, and I can’t wait to see what’s next. Here’s to more laughter, more challenges, and more unforgettable moments. You’re one of the best.
