We like caterpillars even if they eat our crops because we figure that we have plenty to share. (Really small ones I do fling onto the roof of our house for the birds, but big ones have worked hard to get to where they are, so we keep them.) This tomato hornworm will turn into a beautiful Hawkmoth! And tomatoes always need pinching back, so we feed the big caterpillars with those selected branches. Here is our âSpinyâ as London names this beauty!
