Singapore’s new school punishment guidelines allow boys over 9 to be caned for bullying. Violence should never be used as a way to teach children discipline or respect.
Corporal punishment is cruel and harmful. Singapore should end caning in schools and in the justice system and protect every child’s dignity.

The Zambia government’s weak reasons for postponing RightsCon have raised concerns that authorities wanted to influence discussions on human rights.
