Black women shouldn’t have to choose between a strong body and healthy hair.
That’s why Black Ballad and @orshaircareeurope came together for a Weights & Wash Day session designed for Black women who want both.
We also partnered with @gymwrap , who provided head wraps to help keep our edges laid during the workout and protected for future sessions too.
After the class with @activewithamara , attendees left with ORS wash day essentials, from sulfate-free shampoos and moisturising conditioners to heat protectants, because Black women shouldn’t have to worry about damaging their hair just because they want to work out.
And let’s be clear: movement, exercise and maintaining a clean scalp all play a role in keeping our coils and curls healthy too.

LADIES the truth is that “toned” look that you’re wanting requires you to be consistent with a few things 👇🏽
👉🏽 “TONED” is essentially a firm body with visible muscles and a lower body fa percentage which looks lean and sculpted.
👉🏽 Ladies to be “toned” you need to resistance train with heavy weights, weights that challenge you. You should be training progressively ladies, following a plan consistently and pushing yourself.
👉🏽 You need to be tracking your nutrition not just calories but your macronutrients to support your specific body composition. If you don’t track how will you really know what you’re eating?
Ladies it’s not muscle that makes you appear bulky it’s what you’re eating!!!!!! I can’t stress this enough!
When we flex yes our muscles appear more pronounced but we don’t walk around looking like the Michelin man - unless you’re eating in a calorie surplus and having some additional help 💊💉
👉🏽 And lastly ladies 6 weeks is not enough time to achieve that toned look!
YES you can see some results within 6 weeks but it takes a lot longer to build muscle and maintain it. Committing to your health and fitness should be more than a 6 week stint.
👉🏽 The toned bodies you admire on social media have often taken a lot longer to achieve.

Ladies just because it’s feels like it’s not working, doesn’t mean that it not!!!
REAL transformations take time.
Building muscle takes time.
Improving your body composition takes time.
Many women give up before the real transformation actually takes place because it feels like it’s taking too long.
So much change is happening as you focus on being consistent, choosing healthier options, improving daily habits and working on improving your lifestyle!
