Doing great work locally is one thing but showcasing it nationally is quite another yet, together with our partners, we’ve generated significant national interest in our systems change work this last year and unlocked some great new opportunities together! See what we’ve collectively achieved in our latest web blog (news section on our website) and a massive thanks to everyone who is on this exciting journey with us #Cornwall #LetsGo @officialsportengland @active_partnerships @educationgovuk @parkinsonsuk @jamiesministryoffood @intelligenthealthuk @liveandmoveexeter @staustellttc

It’s #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek and this year’s theme is ‘action’. We joined @chaosgroupuk and @chaosdigitaluk for a special live broadcast in #StAustell today alongside other incredible partner organisations such as @mandowncic @cornwall_vsf @volunteercornwall We had a great time chatting to local people about the benefits of physical activity, understanding barriers to and ideas for moving more and finding out how much they enjoyed playing #BeatTheStreet #LetsGo @mentalhealthfoundation

In collaboration with @active_devon we’re making Physical Activity Clinical Champion (PACC) training available to healthcare professionals for the very first time in Cornwall and our initial free online ‘lunch and learn’ session last week was an outstanding success! Almost 50 individuals attended - from GP’s, nurses, social prescribers to therapy/nursing support workers and allied health professionals – coming together to shift the focus from treatment to prevention for an NHS that’s fit for the future. Don’t miss out - next session on Tuesday 12th May from 12-13.30 being led by Paula Manning, retired Clinical Lead, Mental Health Physiotherapist, to coincide with #MHAW For more details and to register, see: /training-physical-activity-clinical-champions/

If you see our team out and about this week, removing the Beat The Street boxes and feeling a bit sad that it’s over, feel free to say hello and tell them what you enjoyed most about playing! It’s been great seeing over 7,000 people of all ages walking, wheeling and exploring where they live, especially where individuals have been encouraging less-active friends and family to take part. Whilst the celebrations continue, please do take a moment to complete the closing survey to help us understand how to best improve spaces and facilities where you live and build a legacy from the game. If you consented to keep in touch, we’ll update you on local progress so you can see the difference it’s making and, in the meantime, take a look at our latest web blog here - /beat-the-street-its-a-wrap/ #LetsGoPenzance #LetsGoStAustell

That’s it, 6 whole weeks of Beat the Street has come to an end here in Cornwall and what an incredible 6 weeks it’s been! We’ve seen over 7,000 of you getting involved, stepping out, exploring where you live and collectively covering more than 35,000 miles… that’s seriously impressive! From friendly competition to family walks and everyday journeys turned into adventures, you’ve made this campaign something really special. The energy, enthusiasm and community spirit has been inspiring from start to finish, and very many congratulations to those of you who have topped the leaderboards – we’ll be in touch shortly about presenting you with your prize 🏆 A huge thank you to everyone who has taken part. Whether you walked or wheeled, tapped a Beat Box once or a hundred times, visited just a few or found them all, you’ve been part of something brilliant. But don’t stop now, let’s keep those new habits going - keep exploring and keep Cornwall moving #LetsGo! Please do complete the closing survey and let us know what impact Beat The Street has had for you - it’s this data and insight that will ultimately help us and our partners improve spaces and facilities where you live 😊 @intelligenthealthuk
