🥾🌿 Explore Exeter one step at a time this National Walking Month.
The Exeter Green Circle is a beautiful 12-mile walking route linking the city with stunning countryside, riverside paths and hidden green spaces. 💚
You don’t have to complete it all in one go either. With smaller sections and easy access from railway stations around Exeter, it’s perfect for “rails to trails” adventures, relaxed strolls or mindful escapes into nature.🚆🌳
Fresh air, scenic views and plenty to discover along the way. Check out our Green Circle link in the bio. 🌼

This week is mental health awareness week, and an excellent reminder to us all that mental health matters, and that no one should feel like they must struggle in silence.
However you’re feeling, it’s reassuring to know that support is available in your community.
Wellbeing Exeter works with people across the city to improve wellbeing through connection, community support, local activities, and one-to-one guidance. Their team of Community Physical Activity Organisers, Connectors and Builders help adults all over Exeter to discover groups, services, volunteering opportunities, physical activities, and social spaces.
You can self-refer directly, or a professional can refer on your behalf. Sometimes a small step, a conversation, a walk or a local group, can make a massive difference.
Find out more about the services offered by Wellbeing Exeter, and read stories of people who have benefitted from their support in the past here - .uk/stories

In April’s edition of the exeterlivingmag, two of our stories were featured.
One of these is about the Green Circle, guiding you through different areas which offer different niches, such as long weekend walks and calm evening spots.
The other is about a sport you may never have heard of… Korfball is taking Exeter by storm. This fast-paced game, similar to basketball and netball is designed to be played in mixed-gender teams of 8, and is bags of fun. Head to @exetercitykorfballclub on Instagram to find out more.

You might remember that last summer, colleagues from across Exeter City Council embarked on a project with GWR, Devon County Council, University of Exeter and Devon Wildlife Trust, making it easier to access the Green Circle from Exeter's train stations.
Today we attended the Exeter Sustainability Awards, where we were awarded highly commended in our category.
We would like to use this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all of our amazing partners for all of their hard work during this project. This was a huge joint effort and a great example of what collaborative working can achieve.
We had a great time earlier this week at the @uniofexeter to meet with the Green Circle steering group.
We even had time afterwards to sticker some of the route through the university grounds, so hopefully this portion of the Green Circle is now a bit clearer and easier to navigate!
Record the wildlife you see!

Your views are wanted on nature in Exeter and how we can all support it.
Everyone who lives, works in or visits Exeter is being asked to give their views on nature in the city, how we can best protect and support it and how it can thrive in the future.
Together with Devon Wildlife Trust, the University of Exeter, the Met Office and other partners, Exeter City Council is launching the survey to build a picture of how important nature is and discover the parts of the city it is most cherished.
