What does rebuilding a life look like? For some, it’s finding a safe home. For others, it’s gaining new skills, starting a business or getting that first job in the UK. In 2025, ACH supported over 1,500 people with housing and hundreds more through learning, employment and entrepreneurship programmes. Our Impact Report 2025 shares the stories behind these numbers. 📢Official Announcement. We are excited to share an important milestone in our journey. As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting refugee integration through education and professional development, we are officially bringing Himilo, ACH’s training arm, under the full umbrella of ACH, effective from today, the 1st of April 2025. This transition strengthens our ability to provide high-quality training while ensuring that our valued partners, clients and learners continue to receive the same trusted services and support. Business relationships remain intact, and this change will create new opportunities for growth, collaboration and impact. By aligning our training initiatives more closely with our core mission, we can expand our reach, enhance our programmes, and open new pathways for those we serve. We look forward to this next chapter and the possibilities it brings. Thank you for your continued support, we’re excited for the future! 🧡 #RethinkingRefugee #RefugeeIntegration

For us, hope is about belonging. It’s about new beginnings, kindness, courage and standing together. It’s found in the million acts of hope that help people feel safe and supported. @Togetherwithrefugees #MillionActsOfHope #TogetherWithRefugees #rethinkingrefugee

This week’s Simple Act for @refugeeweekuk : Walk & Talk We brought together ACH staff and community members for a gentle walk through Eastville Park — just fresh air and time spent together. Small gatherings like this can go a long way in helping people feel connected. This week, why not slow down and go for a walk with a friend, your neighbour or colleague 💛 #SimpleActs #RethinkingRefugee

A vital part of our work in integration services is to offer English Language training. These are courses designed to support people whose first language isn’t English and develop their language skills for everyday life. We’ve rounded up some of the best courses across the country. Simple Acts: Watch a film together Last year, our Birmingham community gathered to watch Fremont — a film following Donya, an Afghan refugee rebuilding her life in California. It’s funny and deeply human in the way it tells a refugee story without turning it into a headline. This week’s Simple Act from @refugeeweekuk is simple: watch a film with someone and create a space for a conversation. We’d definitely recommend Fremont!

Real impact, real outcomes Through our ACE programme with @coexistcommunitykitchen , we’ve supported 70 people, delivered 56 sessions, and seen over 70% of participants move into the food industry. This is what happens when people are given the right support and space to grow. 🔗 Read the full impact report and see the stories behind the numbers. Link in bio

As part of the Simple Acts campaign by @refugeeweekuk , this week we’re picking up brushes and a bit of courage. Last year, during Refugee Week, we brought people together through our Touch of Unity event. It was a simple idea — sit down and get creative whilst making something together. There was laughter, quiet moments with a real sense of connection in the room. Creativity opens up space to express and to just be. 💛 This week, why not try it yourself? It doesn’t have to be perfect. Just start. #SimpleActs #RefugeeWeek #RethinkingRefugee

💛A little throwback to our half-term community gathering at our Welcome Hub in South Gloucestershire— families enjoying a picnic in the sun, kids racing in sacks and running wild on the egg hunt. It was so good to bring everyone together!

“Everyone supported each other, and that made me feel part of a family.” Hussein joined ACH’s Bridge to Employment programme with no paid work experience and a big goal: get his first proper job. Through job-specific training, English for work and a supported placement at @ikeauk , he built confidence and was offered a permanent contract after just three months. This is what a co-designed route into work can look like when people are given a fair chance. 🔗 Read Hussein’s story.
