A knitted scroll acts as an analog screen to translate colonial narratives : the forced displacement of Wisteria sinensis 紫藤, uprooted from China to fulfill imperial fantasies of the exotic. The scroll is shaped as a looped stream. Combined with knitting technique as a code of repetition and memory, this becomes here a metaphor for reprogramming : its grid encodes both the violence of extractive histories and the labor of resistance. The scroll visualizes trade routes and botanical migration, revealing colonialism as a systemic, programmable entity. BLOOMscrolling disrupts passive scrolling habits, urging viewers to confront how cultural memory, ecological exploitation, and digital repetition remain deeply entangled. cover picture by @cdecardenas 💜

ᴅᴀɴs ʟᴀ ᴘᴇᴀᴜ ᴅᴇs ᴀʀʙʀᴇs is an ongoing project carried out over the past years, in collaboration with @xdartayre Ix Dartayre, my friend and photographer. I knitted a series of interactive pieces of bark I called ᴇ́ᴄᴏʀᴄᴇ́•ᴇ — those textured-looking moults, are nailed onto walls to paraphrase the beauty of the tree’s barks as individual’s skins. Nous avons conçu ces pièces textiles d’écorcé·e, des « mues d’arbres » aux textures organiques. Pour moi c’est une manière de paraphraser la beauté des arbres et les messages laissés par des inconnu•es sur leurs écorces.

We made it to @elledecoration_nl ! 🌸 In the Spring issue of ELLE Decoration NL, you’ll find a beautiful spread celebrating 25 years of the TextielLab. Featuring work by designers @lilaspatard , @ache_wang , @ellen.lagerstrom and @jeannemora_ , this new generation shows just how innovative textile design can be.  We are incredibly proud to see everything come together in this feature - thank you ELLE Decoration NL!  And thanks to @mies_pr for connecting! It also serves as a special tribute to the TextielLab’s 25th anniversary. The scarf is designed with the beautiful words of the deceased poet Refaat Alareer with his poem « If I must die » as an hommage to his contribution of his work. Scarf knitted with cotton and wool. 🅂🄲🅁🄾🄻🄻🅂 Last winter, during my exchange at the Suzhou Arts and Design Technology Institute, where I studied traditional Chinese painting from the Song Dynasty to explore new representations beyond the Western-centered imagery often found in cottagecore. I studied the Wisteria sinensis in its native landscape (actually very present in the campus!) learning to paint it through traditional Chinese techniques to reinterpret it into my knitting language. Deep thanks to Professor Wang for sharing her knowledge and guiding me through the creation of this large scroll : a two-week journey from sketching, inking to framed artwork. This work became the foundation for my knitted, programmed scrolls — a translation of brush into thread, tradition into code. 🪻 Picture 1 credits : @sabina.scortanu

hei 🐌 finally (coming out of my shell) posting about my participation for the @dutchdesignweek in one week! -> 18/26 October 2025 location : Microstad Meanwhile I encountered some misfortune while working on metal piece to prepare for the show : the angle grinder disk snapped a big bite of my thumb but I’m still in one piece 😎👍 recovery and reeducation will take weeks, months, years.. but I keep faith 🥸👍 Thanks to the workshop instructors Terry, Joos, Andrei, Patricia, Micha, Alfred and mostly my dear friend @matibovo for their support after the accident ❤️‍🩹 Thanks @petrkroschinsky @sashanazrv @phoebeeyyy François, Elena and Mohan for helping me finishing my last tasks it was such a necessary help in my hardship misadventure 🦾🦾🦾💖 Photography by @___femke___reijerman
