Lebanon | Humanitarian needs remain critically high Despite the ceasefire, humanitarian needs across Lebanon continue to deepen as displacement, economic strain, and limited access to essential services place growing pressure on affected families. Nearly one quarter of the population is projected to face acute food insecurity between April and August 2026, with the sharpest deterioration in southern governorates. Overcrowded shelters, unsafe returns, and disrupted services continue to increase protection risks, while many families returning home still find damaged or uninhabitable houses. While some collective shelters have closed, many remain under growing strain, particularly in the South and Beirut. Humanitarian needs remain severe in both inside and outside shelters, especially for families living in precarious conditions. Reduced visibility must not be mistaken for reduced needs. Humanitarian needs in Lebanon will remain critical for months, while funding constraints continue to limit the scale of the response. #Lebanon #FoodSecurity #Displacement #HumanitarianResponse #ActionAgainstHunger

Lebanon 🇱🇧 | 1.2 million people in Lebanon lack stable access to food, despite the ceasefire and ongoing hostilities in the south. Nearly 1 in 4 people are affected, as markets remain disrupted, livelihoods are lost, and displacement continues. Families forced to flee are spending what little they have on safety and transport, leaving less for food. Action Against Hunger’s humanitarian response is expanding, reaching hard-to-access areas with food assistance and child nutrition support. learn more: link in our bio Ignoring the keyboard chaos at the end again, here’s your Arabic caption in clean NGO tone: ‫لبنان 🇱🇧 |لا يزال 1.2 مليون شخص في لبنان يفتقرون إلى وصول مستقر إلى الغذاء، رغم وقف إطلاق النار واستمرار الأعمال العدائية في الجنوب.‬ ‫يتأثر نحو شخص واحد من كل أربعة، في ظل استمرار تعطل الأسواق وفقدان سبل العيش وتواصل النزوح.‬ ‫تضطر الأسر النازحة إلى إنفاق ما تبقى لديها على الأمان ووسائل النقل، مما يقلل من قدرتها على تأمين الغذاء.‬ ‫تعمل استجابة العمل الإنساني لمنظمة العمل ضد الجوع على التوسع، حيث تصل المساعدات إلى المناطق التي يصعب الوصول إليها، بما يشمل الدعم الغذائي وبرامج تغذية الأطفال.‬ ‫اعرف المزيد: الرابط في السيرة‬ ‫#لبنان #الأمن_الغذائي #العمل_ضد_الجوع #الاستجابة_الإنسانية #النزوح‬ #Lebanon #FoodSecurity #ActionAgainstHunger #HumanitarianResponse #Displacement

🚨 New data from Lebanon shows hunger remains alarmingly high. 1.24 million people are still facing food insecurity. As food becomes unaffordable or out of reach, families are forced to skip meals and cut out essentials, like protein. At the same time, new waves of displacement are exacerbating the crisis. Despite a ceasefire, renewed attacks are forcing families to flee once again. Action Against Hunger teams are reaching hard‑to‑access areas with food and nutrition support—but without sustained access and resources, hunger will persist. 👉 Read more about what the latest data shows—and what’s urgently needed at the stories link in our bio. #Lebanon #FoodInsecurity #Conflict #Ceasefire

🚨The latest Global Report on Food Crises finds that severe hunger has more than doubled since 2016, now affecting 266 million people worldwide. Conflict remains the leading driver—80% of people facing crisis levels of hunger live in conflict‑affected areas. And for the first time in history, famine has been declared in two countries at the same time. The report also warns that the response is falling short. Humanitarian funding has dropped sharply, returning to levels last seen nearly a decade ago. The message is urgent: restore life‑saving aid, protect early warning systems and data, and address the conflicts pushing millions deeper into hunger. 🔗Learn more key takeaways from the report at the stories link in our bio. #FoodCrises #Hunger #Report #HumanitarianFunding

Yesterday, we celebrated #EarthDay with @breakfasttelevision Toronto, who joined us live at Burrows Hall Junior Public School in Scarborough to spotlight our Generation Nutrition program. Nearly a decade ago, @acfcanada launched this program with Burrows Hall to help strengthen nutrition and food literacy, helping students build critical skills through hands-on gardening activities. Our own Vanessa Rich was on air alongside Carmen Oliveira and her students to share more about the project. Carmen has been a champion of the program since the very beginning — founding the school’s garden club and helping expand garden‑based learning across all grade levels. We’re so proud of the work Carmen and her students have done, and of how this project has continued to grow and thrive years later! 🌱 🎥 Watch the full segment at the link in our bio!

🚨Lebanon: A 10-day truce was announced last week, but a permanent ceasefire is needed. Our Regional Director, Suzanne Takkenberg, visited a collective shelter in Mount Lebanon where displaced families are being supported by our teams with food, hygiene assistance, water, and sanitation rehabilitation. But shelters remain overcrowded, with growing protection concerns. Families continue to face difficult conditions, with safety, dignity, and access to basic services at risk. Civilians, humanitarian, and health workers need lasting protection and a permanent ceasefire. 🔗Learn more at the stories link in our bio. #Lebanon #MiddleEast #Ceasefire

Iraq 🇮🇶 | Supporting climate-resilient farming 🚜💧 Through the Feminist Solutions to Climate Change-Driven Food Insecurity project, funded by Global Affairs Canada, Action Against Hunger is supporting smallholder farmers to adapt to climate challenges. So far, 42 farmers across Ninewa and Basra have been equipped with improved irrigation systems, enabling more efficient use of water and supporting cultivation on their land. This approach is helping reduce water consumption while strengthening farmers’ ability to sustain their livelihoods in the face of climate change.

Eight days on the road with nothing to eat or drink. This is how Rashida, a mother in Sudan, describes her journey after being displaced by the conflict. Rashida’s journey reflects the reality for millions of people displaced by the conflict in Sudan — forced to flee with nothing, searching for safety. Action Against Hunger is responding across Sudan, providing lifesaving health services, food, and clean water. But the scale of need remains immense. World leaders must push for a ceasefire, the protection of civilians, safe and sustained humanitarian access, and increased funding before even more lives are lost. 🔗 Learn more via the story link in our bio. #SudanCrisis #KeepEyesOnSudan #EndHunger #HumanitarianAid

#oPt 🇵🇸 | Action Against Hunger keeps emergency WASH responses alive in Gaza. 💧 In April, trucking water to around 44,539 people daily, maintaining latrines in overcrowded shelters, and fighting the spread of disease in the face of collapsed infrastructure. 🚰 With 50+ water trucking sites and 26+ latrine sites active, teams are working against overwhelming odds: 89% of WASH facilities destroyed, fuel shortages, and unsafe living conditions. 🤝 Despite the challenges, ACF continues to coordinate with partners to protect health and dignity. But humanitarian access and infrastructure protection remain critical. #Gaza #HumanitarianResponse #WASH #ActionAgainstHunger #WaterIsLife

“After being displaced, there was nothing. No food, no water, no security — nothing.” These are the words of a mother we met in Sudan. Three years into the conflict, famine, mass displacement, closed clinics, limited humanitarian access, and an underfunded response are realities for millions of people. Behind these realities are families doing everything they can to survive. That’s why we continue to adapt and respond, even in the most difficult circumstances — providing lifesaving support to nearly two million people since the conflict began. 🔗 Learn more via the link in our bio. #KeepEyesOnSudan #SudanCrisis #EndHunger #HumanitarianAid

"You leave your children in the house. You go out in the middle of gunfire. You risk your life just to bring them something to eat." Sudan’s mothers are making impossible choices. Our new report reveals a food system being systematically eroded: farmers planting under threat, markets emptied or destroyed, and families eating once every three days. This is a man-made crisis. It can be stopped. 🔗Read the report in our bio and learn how you can help pressure global leaders to act. #SudanCrisis #KeepEyesOnSudan #EndHunger #HumanitarianAid @careorg @rescueorg @mercycorps @nrc_norway
