Announcing "Sound in Visions: Music is the Muse" at ACCI Gallery, a musically inspired exhibition featuring the work of forty artists and three musical events!🎶 Auditory and visual art have often had a symbiotic, intertwining relationship. Call for art at ACCI Gallery: "Zone Zero: New Opportunities for Art in the Garden"! ⛲️ 📍 Submission deadline: June 28, 2026 🗓️ Exhibition Dates: Saturday, August 22 - Sunday, September 27, 2026 Link in bio to learn more and apply! Faced with the rising threat of wildfires, many California residents are clearing combustible materials from around their homes and reducing vegetation in other parts of their gardens. The City of Berkeley recently passed legislation promoting fire safety which requires 1,200 home owners to clear flammable materials within five-feet of their homes. While these changes are necessary for safety, they also expand opportunities for art in the landscape. The Zone 0 exhibition aims to unite artists and gardeners to bring creativity and imagination to home gardens — without compromising fire resilience. Stone, tile, concrete, metal, glass, ceramics and other non-combustible materials, including water features, are within the scope of this show. We are seeking sculptures, mobiles, stepping stones, wall pieces, fountains, birdbaths and bird houses, garden furniture, gates, partitions and other artworks designed for outdoor settings. Help people reinvigorate their beloved garden spaces with your thoughtful, resilient, and inspiring creations. ........ #opencall #berkeley #callforart #discoveredinberkeley #artcooperative

Meet the Artist: Kat Glazewski. Sunday May 17 from 1 - 4pm I grew up near Dayton, Ohio. I was so certain of my college path that I only ever applied to one college - it didn’t occur to me until after receiving my acceptance letter just how daring that was. I earned my Fine Arts degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2010, and would have remained a student forever if given the option. Instead I returned to Ohio, near Cleveland this time, and took up making chainmail and polishing rocks at my local lapidary club. In 2017 I moved to California, where I finally have the space and resources to return to my college projects and bring them to life in new ways. My jewelry style is modernism with just a touch of whimsy. I’m intrigued by the process of Making; I especially enjoy exploring new methods and techniques, and trying to combine new skills with old.

Meet the Artist: Kevin Harris. Sunday, May 10 from 1 - 4pm Kevin Harris is a printmaker, textile designer, and watercolor artist. Working both in editions, and layered monoprint collections, his contemporary screen-prints focus on semi-transparent, overlapping color layers, and constructed shapes. Drawing techniques, such as ink, and watercolor washes, paper-cutouts, photography, and digital processes are built into his prints. Textural surfaces, impressions of landscapes, and everyday elements tell much of the artworks story. Kevin Harris holds a BFA from Alfred University where he studied ceramics, and printmaking. In addition to work on paper Kevin Harris designs and produces, printed fabric, and products including silk scarves, which he sells in museum stores across the country. He has been an artist in residence at Kala Art Institute in Berkeley. His latest exhibitions include: watercolor paintings in the Limbic Sounds exhibition, at the Real Eyes Gallery, in Adams, MA, a lithograph for the De / Composition show at Main Street Gallery, in Clifton Springs, NY, a screen-print for the Bay Area Print 2019 juried exhibition, at the Compound Gallery, in Oakland, CA, 11 screen-printed pieces for Recurring Patterns, a two person exhibition at Palette-SF, in San Francisco, 12 watercolor paintings exhibited at Maison Bleu Cafe in Berkeley, and a screen print in the Spinning Yarn exhibition, at ACCI Gallery.

Sound in Visions: Music is the Muse opens this Saturday, May 2nd, from 4-6pm, featuring a performance by Linda Goldie Hagood @goldie_linda_music ! 🎶 👁️ Link in bio to RSVP! Galloping in her own terrain, Linda Goldie Hagood brings her voice and musical vision to light with sweet hearted whimsy and joy. After being in Smack Dab (1990 to 1995 in New York City) and the Double U (1996 to 2003 in San Francisco) and then back in NYC from 2003 to 2008, Linda has found herself in the woods of northern California. There she and her music are interacting with the shadows and the dream world in a way that feels more grounded. Previously rumpus and circulatory driven by city experiences, she now finds herself able to take in the sounds of nature and the darkness of the woods with wonder and serenity. Playing with bringing light to the shadows, Linda often incorporates creatures and gives them aurographic mythology. She welcomes jackalopes, owls, and pussycats to her songwriting. All of these elements bring a quieter Linda who previously enjoyed a rowdier splash of sound effects and raucous vocal expression.

Meet the Artist: Patrick Schmitz. Sunday, April 25 from 1 - 4pm I am a woodworker exploring the relationship between material, process, and time. Working primarily with salvaged and found wood, I embrace natural irregularities—knots, cracks, and live edges—as essential elements of each piece. My practice balances technical discipline with the spontaneity of the material, creating a dialogue between control and discovery. I am the fourth generation to use my great-grandfather’s lathe, grounding my work in a lineage of craftsmanship and tradition. Though rooted in functional objects, my work straddles the boundary between craft and art. Each piece is made to be used, gathering wear and meaning as part of its ongoing life.
