@coachella - fashionably late, but since May iis Mental Health Awareness Month, I intentionally share it with you. This year, I attended through the @accessible.plus program as alumni —an initiative supporting BIPOC creatives with disabilities as they navigate live events and build sustainable careers within the industry. Not just access.
Actual accommodation.
Actual opportunity. I move through spaces with a deep awareness of my emotional well-being—especially after some major loss that led to me to rethink my whole life meaning. The dichotomy of aesthetic and becoming exists everywhere, including within thyself. Experience is never linear—it arrives in fragments of awareness between intensity, stillness, and return. Accessible+ made it possible for me to just be there and remain grounded while learning through the best mentorships.
To create. To engage. To stay. This year’s theme was Star Power, arriving alongside a rare conjunction in the sky—a quiet reminder that synchronicity doesn’t always announce itself. Sometimes, you just feel it. The weekend came in fragments—light, sound, movement, many lived experiences at once. But what stayed with me most was something simple: Before Justin Bieber’s set, someone in the crowd needed space—and people made it instantly. No performance. Just care. That’s what accessibility should feel like: Not just entry—but support.
Not just visibility—but being sustained.
Not just inclusion—but real integration. Grateful to Accessible+ for making space for us —not only to attend, but to continue building within this industry. What stood out most was the company we kept. Our circle found itself surrounded by extraordinary people in art and community —individuals whose presence carried warmth, brilliance, and grace. It reminded me that authenticity has a way of drawing the right people near. When one moves through life as they truly are, meaningful connections often arrive without trying to force one way through. If you’re a BIPOC creative with a disability—visible or not—I recommend looking into this program. Everything, hallelujah. Much love and many thanks 💖

There’s so much I can say about both @coachella weekends. For now I’ll just say that I’m grateful. I’m grateful we celebrated our fifth year doing the @accessible.plus program, grateful all of us were able to run the program successfully and celebrate together (including Travis!! he’s been with us since day one). Grateful for @whereslizzy for always creating an accessible, beautiful, and warm campsite for us to gather and become family for the weekend. Grateful we got to meet and reunite with so many beautiful stars in our community. Grateful to our new members of incredible A+ team, y’all are now family now and I cannot wait to continue working with y’all. Grateful for the impact our participants had on me as much as I hope to have had on them. Grateful for the mentors selected by @kerigray90 and the impact they also had on me. Grateful to have shadowed @illcamille with @saahilrai99 and @martha_serrano_ , you really opened not just my eyes but another door I can see myself in, thank you sis. Grateful to have dj’d @coachellaartstudios and @partyinmylivingroom with performances from @aireqjonsin and @garnett_silverhall & played @bellamyaman lastest track, and grateful to see our community being embraced through bandannas designed by @jtknoxroxs . To quote @kie.mckenzie , we made a lot of our dreams for the program happened this year but we couldn’t have done it without the love and support of so many people and our community. We achieved a lot and there’s so much more work to do but this year felt like nothing short of our theme: Star Power. That power was activated for sure. Even though I’m taking a slight break next year I’m grateful to continue to do this work and I’ll see you all when I see you! 💖💐🌵 Hair by: @mrs.glamorousla #accessibleplus #accessibleplusprogram #CreateSparks
