Our biggest investment: people.
At NaAC, our staff are the mentors, facilitators, and supporters who work alongside artists every single day. They're the reason our programs exist in the way they do.
This video shares a bit about why they've chosen this work – and why it matters so much.

In April, Naomi Ho – one of the Drawing and Painting Practicum Artists – visited @eskerfoundation , touring through the four solo exhibitions by Justin de Verteuil, Anthony Cudahy, Magalie Guérin, and Alexandre Pépin. Naomi learned about compositional storytelling, mood and colour, and deep observation!

Please join us in welcoming Sarah Killin (she/her) to the NaAC as our newest practicum student! An Arts & Culture Management student at MacEwan University, Sarah brings a strong passion for accessibility and advocacy in the arts, grounded in both professional and personal experience. During her time with the NaAC, she will be working on early-stage research to help inform future professional artist supports.
Welcome to the team, Sarah!

On May 8, Meg Ohsada will perform at the Kinnear Centre as the opening act for The Cost of Silence by TIKA. @withlovetika
This performance is part of the @take.me.outside Outdoor Learning Conference. This year's gathering explores Place and Pedagogy, Indigenous Ways of Knowing, wellbeing, and our relationship to the land.
If you're not attending the conference tickets are available at the door for $30.
NaAC artist Carla Salter recently completed a BIG collaboration with a national organization. Her original 8" x 10" mixed-media photographs were turned into a large 9' x 11' vinyl mural!
Her artwork Downtown Reflection is part of a series of experimental works inspired by the patterns, mirroring, reflections, and compositions of Calgary's downtown landscapes.
Her mural is installed in the Calgary offices of @opendoorgroup . ODG is an organization that supports inclusive hiring practices and well-being through sustainable and meaningful employment for all.
Thank you to ODG for this opportunity and collaboration, and congratulations Carla!
You're Invited!
Join us Thursday, May 21 from 5pm - 7pm at @cspace.projects 1st floor gallery for a reception celebrating Explosions of Curiosity!
An adventure can be exciting, it can be challenging and unusual, or it could even be an activity that's just outside of your comfort zone. An adventure can make you feel brave, it can fill you with a sense of wonder, it can even defy the odds that are stacked against you.
Featuring work from @catharsis_cathexis , @stephislate , Sophie Ouellet, and Laura LaPeare, Explosions of Curiosity aims to explore the abundance of adventures that exist.
This exhibition comes out of the Curatorial Practices Program, which invited 6 NaAC artists to learn about curating and curate an exhibition of their own. This program is supported by @calgaryartsdev #CalgaryArts #yycart #arts #yycevents

We're proud to share that the @calgfoundation has invested $1.5 million in the development of the Joseph Chung Centre for Creativity, one of two facilities that will form NaAC's accessible arts learning campus.
This major investment builds on a long-standing partnership with the Calgary Foundation and brings us closer to a bold vision: making Calgary Canada's accessible arts capital. We're deeply grateful for their continued belief in our work and our community.
