Oo, ikaw. Para sayo. I never knew where it started but my heart has always been embedded in my home ground, sewn into the fabric of our people. Kaya ko isigaw sa buong mundo yung pagmamahal na nararamdaman ko para sa Inang Bayan but I will never be able to do that alone. And so, I wrote a love letter.
Each and every one of us has the capacity to define who we are NOW. No one can ever tell you how much Filipino you have running through your veins. No one can ever tell you that you’re a good or bad Filipino or whatever that even means. No one can ever tell you what you should do with that bond, that longing, the curiosity. The pain of being a people of a nation at constant war, not for more, but even for just enough.
A Filipino without a scarcity mindset is a creative. No one needs to tell you who you are because all of that is in our skin. It’s in our bloodlines. In our dialects. And if there is one thing you must know - you are not alone. Now, you get to decide.

I’m just gonna leave this here. This was taken in 2016. After a Presidential election, I found myself in the FinTech industry at a pivotal moment. I was fresh out of college. I had three jobs in two years. All with incredible responsibility and learning. I want to say thank you to everyone who has shaped me to be who I am today. My mentors, office teammates, friends, family. I am still starry-eyed. I still cry sometimes. I am still strong. In a couple of days I will be introducing myself as a product of all of you. I can’t believe what a decade my career has been like until I saw this photo.
