Beethoven and Brahms by Cristian Mǎcelaru - Arte Concert - mixed with the constant sound of smashing metals and the reverse beeping sounds of Front Street in Brooklyn. The complete Electroshock Series. Some unpublished, some ugly babies and some moments of joy. When I first started the collection, some of you asked me if I’d sell them, the time has come and they will be available very soon! With Bard Mehldau - ARTE concert playing on the background mixed with the eternal roar of the subway here in Dumbo

Yes, whaaaaaaah I’m going to hang this massive print on top of that flat file cabinet and be the happiest. About the print: No Se Rajen Edition 30” x 40” on Hiromi Niyodo Natural. Process shot of my 50 Yards of Lettering project; this is one of my favorites. @brooklyneditions you are a badass 🧗Thank you!

Personal belongings: soccer/type experiments, archives, love letters, dances, sketches, scripts, family and everything in between. Recently I’ve felt work and life are walking holding hands almost smashed into each other, as a result, the work has felt more personal too. Contrary to the post-pandemic world, I used to work from home before Covid, and now I come to the studio even if I don’t have to. I like it, it’s my ‘bati-cueva’. During walks, I like wondering around and absorbing the visual language of the pathway; for me it’s an observation and patience exercise. I’ve been appreciating it a bit more every walk and perhaps that’s why I feel the work has also gotten more personal. Experiencing the abuse of the digital world has also been the antidote that pushes me to introspection and the appreciation of the world off-screen. Ironically, here I am!

X-ray of a poster and hours of operation. Here are a few images about the surgical essence inside the design studio intertwined with the energetic chaos of a sweaty gym. Here’s why >> With my father as a doctor and my mother as a fitness instructor , I grew up inside hospital corridors, locker rooms, empty hospital beds and plenty of hours entertaining myself while watching my mother leading aerobics classes in the 90’s — Me seated by her duffle bag next to a boombox blasting music. When I read; Lella and Massimo Vignelli: Two Lives, One Vision, a book my friend @jdksmith gifted me, I read that early in their careers, Massimo Vignelli required employees at his firm, Unimark International, to wear white lab coats. I thought this would be an interesting idea to test and bought one @frontgeneralstore to wear around the studio. It’s almost an antidote to that bad joke about the designer and a doctor; the one about an airplane. I don’t wear the white coat all the time, but it has made an impact inside the studio. And of course makes me think of my father. It’s a good memory. On the other hand, gym life. My mother looked so powerful in front of the mirrors, leading a room of sweaty people in synchronized movement, I loved it. I still do, and since then, I’ve ever left the gym life and not surprisingly, I was a dancer teacher before I was a designer. Both things always intertwined in my life. Also, that cup of water (14)? That’s how much shakiness there’s in Dumbo! No wonder why my handwriting has been so shaky!

Things on the screen and silent productivity. The third window in the room. On my flight to Chicago, going through the photos in my phone, I noticed this inclination of documenting the screen. Some I remember taking as quick analysis to see what things would look like as thumbnails, quick shares with colleagues, blueprints and tech sheets (so much invisible work), ideas for things in motion, shortcuts to music edits (like the second to last), and some, just because, simply I am vain, I liked the work. Documentation of the process; like the collages/references/strategy that rarely sees the public eye and doesn’t have the recognition it deserves as its own piece of work—more invisible productivity. 1. My design notebook covers from 2011 - 2013 2-3. Concept Development and Strategy presentation for @razzanj 4. Opening Still from a Design Talk I gave to the Tec de Monterrey students in MĂ©xico. 5-6 @tortazo__ early work in collaboration with @_pablothomas and @xyz_type 7. Photoshoot in the now famous FĂĄbrica de HĂ©rcules in QuerĂ©taro with my beloved dance team Top Dance by Observatorio Studio. 8. Monogram-esche Estamos Unidos Mexicanos. Personal piece. 9 @articleofkind splash test. A new project I’ve been developing for the last two years. Ooff 10. Exploration commissioned by @flamingo_estate 11. My good friend @jeremy_mickel and I when we were both speakers at @brandnewbyucllc conf! 12-13. Momen work for @anthonydespras 14-15. Some serious printing work for the now defunct Londres 126, AUS and printed by the @imprimeriedumarais . It’s a Ferrari of a print! 16. Title for @rickyubeda11 in motion (test) 17. Original piece available in my shop! No kidding. There’s a discount if you want it. 18. A photo of my Mon’s toasted pumpkin seeds sun drying at our home in Mexico. Good memory. 19- Rapsodia’s excerpt @cafeconrumba @emilycdail @amandaa.knowles @kensiekeele @krisroller 20 - All About my Mother ending dedication. Pedro Almodovar, 1999 “To Bette Davis, Gena Rowlands, Romy Schneider
to all the actresses who have played actresses, to all women who act, to all men who act and become women, to all the people who want to become mothers. To my mother”

In October 2025, entrepreneur and organizer Jess Morales Rocketto launched Maremoto, a newly-formed nonprofit fighting for Latinos to lead in our democracy, culture, and media. Champions was tasked with naming and designing an unapologetically Latino-first brand; one with a spirit of disruption, force, and momentum. It is both turmoil and transformation. A kind of violent generosity. We partnered with @abrahamlule to draw the wordmark, and it was brought to life in expressive motion by biocomputational animator Sage Jenson.  Partner: Jennifer Kinon Creative Director: Mike McCaughley Lead Designer: Michael Penda Lead Strategist: Paulina Alvarado Serrano Producer: Haley Kattner Allen Lettering: Abraham Lule Motion: Sage Jenson Type Design: TipoType
