Hello ! I am very excited to (officially) share that I have been offered a place at The New School’s Master of Music Performer-Composer starting in August this year. Moving to New York has been my absolute dream for a long time and I am excited to reunite with some of my friends and make new connections ! I was lucky enough to receive the offer with some merit scholarship, however, due to the US Visa regulations, I am unable to work for the first 12 months of my study. Therefore, I have created an Australian Cultural Fund as an attempt to raise funds to support my living costs and remainder of my tuition fee whilst I cannot work. As a non citizen/permanent resident of Australia, I am in a unique position as I am ineligible for over 95% of the grants/scholarships available. I am working as much as I can, however, alternative ways to raise funds are very limited. All the details about this trip are available on my official ACF link which can be accessed via my bio. If your preferred way of supporting is in person, please come to my fundraiser gig at @temporubato_au on Sunday 28th June at 4pm. @ngrichie_ will be opening the afternoon with their solo set! This will be my last solo performance in Melbourne for a little while. If you know anyone who is in a position to support, please share the link ! If you want to chat to me or just say hello please email me on [email protected] xx Abi ☆ ☆ ☆

ABI LEE’S Beyond, Below, and Above ✨ Sunday, May 10 @ 7:30 PM _______________________________________________ Beyond, Below, and Above is an improvising trio of Abi Lee (piano), Julien Wilson (saxophone), and Dylan van der Schyff (drums/percussion). Curated by Lee, their self-titled album is part of Lee’s ongoing research in structured improvisation. This unique collaboration between internationally established improvisers across Canada, Korea/NZ, and Australia is one of the most exciting collaborations in Naarm. Van der Schyff’s delicate conversational approach, Wilson’s uplifting sound, and Lee’s bold and narrative way of improvising bring surprises in the trio’s performances as they effortlessly weave in and out of free improvisation. Lee’s cultivating way of storytelling shows her influences from Ornette Coleman, Kris Davis, and Tim Berne.
