30 seconds of bliss. This is @pocketcandy_sd ’s original tune called “Stanky Panky” that I wrote about 6 years ago performed by myself, @rossrizzo , @spinit_antar , and @abemaj last night at @rivierasupperclub .
I say “30 seconds of bliss” because, despite loving to solo over chord changes, my favorite thing is locking in with my band on a riff and playing fills in between. Super fun to do and an underrated technique. Holding the riff in time while saying a little something in between is hip. It’s the little stuff in between that makes tunes like this come to life and gives nuance.
