My 3rd biggest trout ive ever caught. 7pounds!
Me and @pov_fly_fishing_nz had been going neck to neck of trout this trip, but marcus had two 7lbs on his belt and was doing best overall weight.
On the last hour of the last day I seen a fish on the far bank. Did not in my mind think it was a big fish. Just the same as the others, 5LB maybe. (Which yes i know; they are big fish)
Was a tricky cast as it was tucked into the bush on the far bank. But after a few takes I got it to eat!
And for some reason I had marcus rod on my side of the river so I got to use a @epicflyfish and @abelreels
For the first time also.
Reminder: It’s May and Mother’s day is around the corner. Always smart to get mom dialed with something she’ll fish forever.
