Yesterday I had the privilege of meeting @robertglasper & @common . If you know me you know how much I look up to Glasper, I’ve been so inspired by his music and artistry for years, a huge influence on my piano playing and songwriting.
Recently I’ve been struggling a lot with my love for music. When your passion becomes your full time job it can take a lot of joy out of it. Although I am eternally grateful for God’s gifting, it’s definitely been a tough period navigating enjoying music whilst working in this industry. And funny enough I just told my friends about this just two days ago. 24hrs later I’m hanging backstage with these legends like they’re normal people, cuz they are lol. And this all happened through connections in music, my brother @lukegrieve_ introduced me to an incredible artist @justpeej a few months ago, we did a few sessions together while she was in London. I told her when we met how much I love Rob’s music. Months later she remembered and brought me and Luke through for the gig. I didn’t even know she’d be on stage!! I am so so grateful to her🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
If there’s a lesson in this be kind to everyone you work with, you never know what can happen💗
