what makes a good DJ?
obviously technical skill matters. timing matters. transitions matter. but i think the real difference is emotional intelligence...
i also think people underestimate how much taste matters. like your references, your curiosity, how deeply you actually care about music. people can feel that, even if they don’t realise they can.
some of the best djs i’ve heard don’t even do anything “crazy”. it just feels right the entire time.
