This bank holiday Sunday we’re looking back at Kiss It! by Abbie Trayler Smith ✨
“Such an important book for the world to see today, when society is under so much immense pressure to look a certain way. The relationship between Abbie and Shannon is pure and inspiring, and the work they’ve made together is definitely one to go down in history.”
Over the course of 12-years, Trayler-Smith documented Shannon’s journey from teenager to adult — navigating friendships, family, first-boyfriends, prom nights, holidays and jobs. Shannon has been the central inspiration for Trayler-Smith’s long-term project, ‘The Big O’ examining the issue of obesity in school-age children and young adults.
Abbie has just exhibited Kiss It!/ The Big O at @BFFMantova , in Italy. She will also be exhibiting at @BucharestPhotofest in Bucharest later on in the year, which is on from the 9th – 18th October 2026. 🤩

🌸 Coming this spring/summer: your chance to continue the year with purpose, connection, and creative alignment. Join us for The Emmas Spring/Summer Intensive, an intimate 14-week workshop with five of the UK’s leading female photographers 🌸
We are a collective of photographers who have loved working together for five years, online and in-person.
For the past year, we have been extending our wealth of experience to activate the creative practice of others. Across seven online sessions, each of us leads a meeting guided by a different theme.
We focus on portraiture, project work, documentary, research, writing and much more, all with a strong emphasis on experimentation, community, and creative freedom.
Assignments will be given each session, so expect to work hard!
The workshop is open to everyone. It’s designed to refresh, refine, and realign your practice - to help you find momentum and bring your vision into focus.
The workshops will start on 26th April 2026 and run biweekly until mid-July.
Bookings are now open! For more information including dates and cost, please email: [email protected]@siandavey1@clementine.schneidermann@alystomlinson@abbiets@alice.zoo
