After yesterday’s remarkable celebration at the Eko Hotels & Suites 50th Anniversary and the impactful Africa Legacy Summit, where both couples brilliantly held the stage together as MCs despite their wedding Anniversary,
Madam Kike reminded us that the work of nation-building through hospitality and tourism never truly stops.
The conversations continue strongly around “How Local Communities Are Shaping the Future of Hospitality & Tourism” a timely and important reminder that sustainable growth begins with the people, culture, traditions, and everyday stories within our communities.
Well done to these busy, dedicated, and hardworking couples for bringing professionalism, energy, warmth, and grace to such an important gathering again, today. Their passion and commitment were truly visible.
Hopefully, amidst the demanding schedules and public engagements, they find a little time to rest, recharge, and simply enjoy each other’s company.

Our Mirror Says we reflect each other. My 6th Anniversay tale !😍
Ruby, do you remember when we first started? I called you my “Ireti” because you were the person God chose for me to partner with in life’s journey. I came with hidden scars. Not the kind you see, but the kind you feel. The society has a labeleling for my type, but not like I cared. So many people whispered. But you never looked at me like I was broken. You looked at me like I was chosen. Ruby, you have never made me feel unseen. Even on my hardest days, when the weight of Real Talk, the foundation, the public scrutiny pressed down you saw me. You did not fix me. You just stayed. And because of that, I could bloom.
Someone once said that your husband is the only person in your life who loved you purely by choice. Your parents love you because you are theirs. Your siblings because you share blood. Your children because you brought them here. But you, Ruby? You saw me, Kikelomo Olanrewaju Victoria, with all my past disappointments, my pain, my loud laughter , my successes and my quiet fears, and you still chose me. You were not obligated. You did not owe me that love. You decided I was worth committing to. Out of everyone you could have built a life with, you chose me. So do not ever think I take that for granted. Ruby, we have had our dark nights sometimes, the public battles, the family adjustments, the moments I wanted to shrink. But we turned toward each other. We became the light.
I remember praying. I asked God for something so beautiful that it would make everything that had hurt me feel smaller. Not erased, just lighter. Isaiah 61:3 says He gives a crown of beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning. Reuben, you have been that exchange for me. What I gained with you has softened what I lost.
People ask me what my best investment has been. The answer is simple: marrying you. I would sell everything else. A man who takes care of himself, who pours into his family, who keeps showing up, that is the best investment. You have an unlimited budget in my heart to keep becoming better. For us. For our children. For this blended, beautiful, imperfect family we are building.
I tell people...✍️👇
So on this 6th anniversary day, I simply want to say thank you. Thank you for choosing me back. Thank you for giving me a home, not just a house. Thank you for always turning toward me, even when the night comes. @realtalkwithkike
With you, Kiki, my heart is truly at peace. You’re stuck with me forever- no refunds, no returns. Because even on the hard days, I’ll still choose being with you over anything else. Your beautiful and kind heart outweighs it all, even when you act tough sometimes. ❤️
I love you deeply, Iyawo, E. Today, tomorrow, and every single day the sun rises. 💋❤️
Thank you Daisy, for capturing this unexpected beautiful moment between your mum and I. 😍
The memory is priceless already, and your voice-over made it even more amusing and special 😂 Truly a sweet moment beautifully preserved.
[OPINION] Eko Hotels At 50 — Reuben Abati
"While Nigerian politics keeps testing our patience daily, moments like the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) remind us that creativity still thrives loudly in this country.
Held at the iconic Eko Hotels & Suites, this year’s AMVCA wasn’t just an awards show — it was a masterclass in African fashion, culture, and spectacle. From Queen Mercy Atang’s unforgettable bread-made outfit to Nana Akua Addo’s cathedral-inspired masterpiece and Osas Ighodaro’s crystal-studded elegance, the night proved one thing: Nigerians and Africans know how to turn art into an experience.
Beyond the glamour, the event also spotlighted the incredible legacy of Eko Hotels as it marks 50 years of hospitality excellence. From FESTAC ‘77 to hosting global conferences, weddings, concerts, and cultural moments, the hotel has become more than a building — it is part of Nigeria’s cultural history.
In a country battling economic pressure, insecurity, and infrastructural challenges, surviving and thriving for five decades is no small feat.
Sometimes, amid the chaos, culture gives us hope. And this weekend, Lagos showed the world exactly how powerful African excellence can look."

[OPINION] The Coalition That Became A Collision — Reuben Abati
"Nigeria’s opposition drama ahead of 2027 has taken a sharp turn—from coalition to outright collision. What began as a bold alliance of 14 political parties in Ibadan, led by Seyi Makinde and Atiku Abubakar, promising a united front against the ruling APC, has quickly unraveled under the weight of ambition, legal battles, and internal divisions.
The plan sounded clear: one presidential candidate, electoral reforms, and resistance to a one-party state. But cracks emerged almost immediately. Key parties stayed away, critics dismissed the coalition as recycled politics, and multiple aspirants jostled for control—raising doubts about unity from the start.
Then came the game-changer: Supreme Court rulings that threw both the PDP and ADC into deeper chaos. Leadership disputes, conflicting judgments, and unresolved court cases left both parties scrambling to meet electoral deadlines—effectively derailing the coalition project.
In the middle of the confusion, a new player emerged. Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso exited the ADC and joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), instantly boosting its profile. With growing membership and fresh momentum, the NDC now positions itself as a potential third force—but questions remain about its stability and leadership direction.
As alliances shift and tensions rise, one thing is clear: Nigeria’s 2027 political race is wide open—and unpredictable."

[OPINION] The Ibadan Summit, Opposition Politics And 2027 — Reuben Abati
"“What a country?”
“Which country?”
“You already know… Nigeria.”
Political season in Nigeria is where strategy meets spectacle. From high-energy rallies to viral moments, the atmosphere is electric—and sometimes bewildering. A recent clip from Kano stirred debate: women dancing at a rally, displaying red underwear allegedly branded with a politician’s image. It left many wondering—was it satire, symbolism, or simply a stunt taken too far?
Clarity followed soon after. The state governor distanced himself, condemning the act as inappropriate. Reports indicated it wasn’t an official initiative but the work of overzealous supporters seeking attention in an already tense climate. It’s another reminder that in today’s fast-moving media space, misinformation can travel faster than truth.
Beyond the theatrics, deeper tensions are unfolding. Political rhetoric is being scrutinized, misread, and amplified, while historical references resurface as warnings—though interpretations differ widely.
As 2027 approaches, the call for free, fair, and credible elections grows louder. Yet, critics argue the opposition appears fragmented and overly confrontational, with internal divisions weakening its message. Demands for reforms and leadership changes are seen by some as signs of disorganization rather than strength. The consensus? A credible challenge requires unity and clarity of purpose.
Meanwhile, everyday Nigerians face rising living costs and uncertainty. Still, election seasons often shift focus to handouts and hype.
In the end, Nigeria must rise above the noise—because beyond politics, the future of the nation is what truly matters."

[OPINION] Political Parties And The 2027 Countdown — Reuben Abati
"“I’ve been reflecting on the political parties heading into the 2027 race.”
“There are about 21 of them, but let’s be honest—most are just placeholders. At best, they’re special-purpose vehicles; at worst, empty platforms up for sale. In Nigeria, if you have the money, you can practically buy a ready-made party and use it.”
“That’s exactly what bothers me. Apart from maybe four or five, the rest don’t even feel like real political parties. There’s no ideology, no structure, no identity. It wasn’t always like this. Back in the First Republic, parties stood for something. People joined because they believed in a vision. Yes, there were regional influences, but those parties were organized, influential, and led by recognizable figures. Compare that to what we have today.”
“But today’s parties still have leaders—look at APC, PDP, LP, NNPP…”
“Leaders? Where? Even in the Second Republic, you could ask any student to name party leaders and they’d know. Can you confidently name the face of any party today?”
“They have chairmen, and besides, parties shouldn’t revolve around one person.”
“Chairmen who are constantly in court battling for control? That’s not leadership. The older parties had stability, depth, and purpose—qualities that are clearly missing now.”
As the debate unfolds, it points to years of military influence and today’s self-serving politicians as key factors behind this decline. With 2027 approaching, alliances are shifting, opposition remains weak and divided, and even the ruling party faces internal cracks. Trust in institutions is fading.
Bottom line: Nigeria’s democracy is struggling with credibility, and unless something changes, the outcome may already be predictable."
