Guttate psoriasis 🙄 an old friend that comes back to haunt me around this time every single year.
I developed this specific type of skin condition around five years ago now. “Another spotty rash to add to the fucking list,” a younger, acne-faced Aaron thought at the time.
One definition of guttate psoriasis describes it as “raindrop-like” acute “small red scaly patches” that “shower” over the body. Makes it sound devilishly cute 😈 right?
In reality, from head to toe, these stubborn little patches of dry skin flare up year after year, despite creams, steroids, moisturisers, the lot.
I think the reason I’m posting this is because there was a time when I felt embarrassed to take my top off whenever the psoriasis came out for its annual hello. Growth is a milestone worth noting, and I’m proud to note that I will be unashamedly topless this summer… if we get one. 🌻
