hi 🫶🏽 i’m a featured performer at the Resonate Festival at @icavcu this year, along with some brilliant folks. it was a real honor to be invited. i’ll be doing a piece about the sounds that keep me going these days: from melodic voice memos and stage directions of a play I love, to an instrument my jamaican maroon ancestors used to communicate while fighting settler colonialism. what’s old is new. november 8 at 11am in the auditorium. it’s sold out but hope to see you there if you’re going!! live scoring and sound design by @lucylittlemusic ❤️‍🔥

for @slate , I wrote about the beautiful, hard, and rewarding process of making friends🌜🌛🫂 since moving solo to the hudson valley in 2020, it’s pretty much all I think about. some of my friendships have thrived, some have fizzled, some are just beginning. this is a little slice of what it’s like to build community in a new place, what’s worked, and how i’ve learned to be kind to myself when loneliness takes hold. ty to @pdvarona for inviting me to contribute, @guologan for the illustration, @beverlyglenncopeland for the companionship i’ve found in your music, and my pals for being there 🌲link in bio🌲

🌲🌲 today marks the end of my 4 weeks as an artist in residence at @macdowell1907 🌲🌲 i watched the seasons change from my studio, wrote the first draft of a new hourlong TV pilot, wandered off wooded trails, debuted some in-progress audio work, cried a lot, danced a lot, recalibrated my center, and met some incredible people. i’m so very thankful, and feel forever changed by this magical place 🦌🧚🏽‍♂️
