Try not to take everything so seriously- these are the good days. The youth you have today, you won’t have tomorrow. You have good health. The freedom of limited responsibility. Every essential resource is available with expediency in a modern world. Our ability to make change is greater than it ever was. So want for nothing. Take what you need. No one is going to give it to you, you have no right to complain. Life is just too good.

Here are pictures from my current job providing me with a sense of self worth. I’m sure I’ll post videos from the show at some point, but for now you can just look at the pictures and imagine that I sound amazing. Like, imagine if, Steve Perry, Mariah Carrey, Michael Buble, Freddy Mercury, Celine Dion, Brendon Urie, and idk… Pavoratti? Imagine if they all lived in the same house, in a beautiful polyamorous relationship. And they raised up a little orphan boy (me) to share his talents with the world. That’s how I sound in these photos. Look at the photos and imagine THAT voice, and we can all pretend that’s what’s really happening. Yeah? Agreed? Good, good talk.

I find it difficult to be objective with my own voice and music. And I don’t have the money to pay for a vocal coach. But. Do you know what’s really objective? Views and likes. So you guys are gonna help me figure out what works best for me, what songs, what style. I’m confident enough to know, there will be some videos that don’t sound great. But singing has been my primary source of income since 2019. I’ve been paid to sing on eleven different cruise ships, and a few different professional theaters in the US, too. So. I refuse to be embarrassed. I’ll post more and more videos, and archive the 💩 ones. I’m comfortable with the process. Meanwhile, I’ll keep making money with my voice, and hope that opportunities continue to open up, the better that I get. Clearly this style of video works better for singing, it is way more organic, I guess. I’ve been following some accounts for better singer/guitarist inspiration, but. I think I need to find the sweet spot. I can do way better than my little cabin guitar videos. If I want to throw on a compressor, an EQ, a new amp… well, it better sound album ready, and it should look like a music video. Otherwise, social media loves the live feel. An acoustic guitar, a bit of reverb on the mic, and set it up in a backyard. I’ll find a way to make that work. But for now, more of these! What do you think, a capella? Karaoke track? Which do you prefer? Also, we’re going to try some musical theatre today! If you knew me before I was twenty, you know that @pippinmusical is the show that made me fall in love with Broadway. @patinamiller and @matthewjamesthomasyes blew me away. And for the next few years, I wouldn’t ever shut up about my “dream role.” But hey. The theater is where dreams go to die, right? There’s this little dream I have inside of me, that I’ve had since was thirteen. A dream of becoming a stand up comedian. But every time I say that, someone always says something like, “don’t you have to be like… idk, funny?” And I usually respond with , “don’t you have to be like, idk, nice? Or else you’re gonna hurt my feelings? And I’m probably going to cry?” So yeah, that dream dies a little more every day. Especially after watching Matt Rife implode. And I was once asked by a guest, after they saw me sing onstage, “are you Matt Rife’s less successful brother?” Ouch. Yeah so. I’m basically the K-mart version of Matt Rife, but less talented. And I haven’t been cancelled for my bad jokes… yet. Anywhozits, now I’m stuck relying on this nasally alto voice in order to make a career in entertainment, cuz I’m clearly not pretty enough to an actor. Which is fun. I’m having fun. The last reel I posted, I tried to use this AI software in CapCut that would hide my dark circles, smooth my skin, make me look like a proper 6/10. It was only after I posted, that I realized that you could see through my ruse. The filter popped on and off like a light switch in the bedroom of a married couple with OCD. Now I just use cheap IG filters like all you normal peasants. Anyways, fun story. When I was eleven, I auditioned with this song for the school musical “Beauty and the Beast.” For some reason, I didn’t get the part? Any part, really. Or a callback. Not quite sure how “the Fray” didn’t scream Gaston but… I blame Mr. Whiteman.
