My Grandpa Wolf was born 100 years ago today, on April 13, 1926. He was the best. I remember him digging cereal out of the box with his bare hands, and when I looked at him oddly, he said, “Grandpa knows how much he wants.”
When I couldn’t blow bubbles with gum, I would take the gum out, stretch it into a square, and hold it over my mouth and blow a bubble that way. My Dad said I grossed him out by doing stuff like that, but I never got that impression. He just smiled and laughed with me.
Francis Eugene Wolf died on my birthday when I was 9 years old, which was a difficult, but also special, thing.
Thanks for remembering him with me. I hope you’re having a good day.
Oh yeah, and I was told that My Special Angel was one of his favorite songs, so that’s why it’s here on this post.
So excited to share that our proof-of-concept short MAN OF THE HOUSE has been selected for the upcoming @prooffilmfestival !! Oh mama!!
This freaky little fucker is just the seed of a much bigger, hairier, nastier feature vision. We’re so honored and grateful for the opportunity that PROOF and @am_cinematheque have given us to showcase our concept and help it grow into the fully fledged nightmare it could become.
So much love for @devinpdas@buddhadasma@oddladydre@aaronberjohn@gabeharden@eric.wysocki@thewarhorsesux@isabelgalupo and the rest of our delightful, deranged cast and crew for everything they’ve poured into this project 💕
So much more to come! We can’t wait to introduce you to the MAN OF THE HOUSE 🥰
Spontaneous photo session (on film!) with @shombando . He brought the vision, talent and artistry. And also thankfully a camera.

Sister Cecilia Mattingly (1926 - 2023) | A tribute to one of the most important people in my life.
“Cel” taught my Dad in the 4th grade, and later worked at the same school as my Mom. As I understand it, she retired from teaching on a Friday, and on the following Monday came to care for my sister and me before and after school.
There was so much love. She came to birthdays, sporting events, performances. She was family. I remember when she fell on the sidewalk and hurt her chin. I was very young, and it was the first time I understood adults were mortal. I was heartbroken in the 4th grade when she brought my parents and me together to say she would not be able to babysit for our family anymore. But she went on to care for many more families, and we always kept in touch.
When I would come back in town for a visit, I always remember her standing by her front door, waiting for me. And after our visit, she would watch until I drove away and was out of sight. She always greeted me with a smile and such warmth.
She was born on Nov 19, exactly half a year from my birthday in May, and always sent the best birthday greetings. Every year, without fail. Even this past May, when her health was declining faster, she still sent me a beautiful text message. When I talked to her later on the phone, she explained that she spent 3 days writing that message, using whatever energy should could to write a bit more, and then stopping until she could recover and continue writing.
Such love. I love you forever and will always remember you. I am grateful to have known her, and to have gotten to say goodbye a few days ago.
