Marieke Druiven

Marieke Druiven is exhibiting her illustration for this zine release and interpreted the theme Mata Hari for the cover and poster of this edition. We met Marieke at a zine fair in Utrecht, where we both attended. Hypnotized by her style, we asked her last minute to react to the #20th zine’s theme, which she did in a very eye catching way (p20 - 21 zine #20). Impressed by her raw textures, bright colors and talent for capturing an uncanny feeling, we decided that we wanted her to do the cover for Murf/Murw #21. bio: Marieke Druiven (1997), is an illustrator and animator from the Netherlands. Her work has a strong handmade feel, whether it is an illustration, miniature, screen print, or installation. Her style is characterized by raw yet detailed forms and materials such as cardboard, thick acrylic paint, and clay. The themes in her work often revolve around human interaction, family, friends, the bizarre, but also the everyday. Be there for Marieke’s fine works! Featuring: 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗸𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 Her work has a strong hand-made identity, whether it’s an illustration, miniature, screenprint or installation. A noisy post-punk conspiracy born beneath a table in an empty room. Blending scrappy post-punk with syrup-soaked art rock, dragging chaos, tension, and strange melodies onto the stage. 𝗨𝗜𝗧𝗭𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗕𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗨 Dutch for: “employment agency”. WORK FOR MONEY! Loud, chaotic, and uncompromising hardcore punk from Amsterdam. An explosion of raw energy and unfiltered noise: raging against the police, dystopia, and the established order. Begin mei opent onze gezamenlijke expositie “PUYNZOOI” in @metro__c ! Wat valt er te vinden? Smurrie misschien? Gras vanuit hoeken en kieren, een vrouw met een verdacht hoge puntmuts, het Groningse debuut van Broeder Roeland, en dan hebben we het nog niet eens gehad over de bom aan de muur. Alle gekheid op een stokje dus, papier-maché in overvloed. We hopen dat je langskomt om alles eens goed te bekijken! De opening is op vrijdag 8 mei vanaf 19:00 met een praatje om 19:30. Hopelijk zien we je daar! ~English~ In the beginning of May we are opening our collaborative exhibition “PUYNZOOI” in @metro__c ! What can you expect? Will it be gunky? Grass popping up from every nook and cranny? A woman wearing a suspiciously long pointy hat? WIE ZIJN DE STAD 28 - 30 mei 2026 Moshpit of Creation De identiteit van een stad bestaat niet louter uit geschiedenis, architectuur en bestuurlijk beleid, maar wordt ook juist gevormd door de ervaringen, herinneringen en perspectieven van haar inwoners. De expositie Wie zijn de Stad verkent de symbiotische relatie waarin stad en inwoner elkaars identiteit vormen in verschuivende verhoudingen waarin belangen, ervaring en leefbaarheid niet altijd evenwichtig blijken. Met een kleine groep internationale kunstenaars transformeren we de Moshpit of Creation om tot een stadslandschap waarin we gezamenlijk verschillende werken over onze relaties, perspectieven en ervaringen met de stad tentoonstellen. Opening: donderdag 28 mei 16:00 Afsluitend: URBAN CLUTTER punkfest zaterdag 30 mei (€10) (EN) The identity of a city does not consist solely of history, architecture, and administrative policy, but is precisely shaped by the experiences, memories, and perspectives of its inhabitants. The exhibition Who Are the City explores the symbiotic relationship in which city and inhabitant shape each other's identity in shifting dynamics where interests, experience, and livability do not always prove to be in balance. Together with a small group of international artists, we are transforming the Moshpit of Creation into an urban landscape in which we collectively exhibit various works regarding our relationships, perspectives, and experiences with the city. The Mysterious Mole 🦛 Mostly dug in, so hard to spot in the wild... @misskoop_illustrations is doing an internship these 6 months with me, and we made this life-size paper-maché mole together 😄 Videomixed the final animation with our VHS recorder and the Panasonic WJ MX12 together with @d.y.l.a.n.h.a.y.e.s ✨️ Very fun to make a silly video like this 🐎 It's for an upcoming exhibition with @lieve.van.loon @joana_carvalho3 @micha_vdm @fvanderziel and @d.y.l.a.n.h.a.y.e.s

Wauw! 🐦✨ Kijk deze leuke vogelkostuums!⁠ ⁠ Kinderen van 4 t/m 12 jaar van het azc in Assen doken in de wereld van vogels. Ze keken goed naar hoe vogels eruitzien en zich gedragen, en gingen daarna zelf aan de slag 🪶⁠ ⁠ Onder de fijne begeleiding van Marieke Druiven (@aardkluit ) groeiden ze stap voor stap in hun rol, tot ze tijdens de fotoshoot zelf vogels werden 💛⁠
