MAMI Independent proudly presents feature film ‘Maagh’ for our next free weekly screening on Wednesday, 15th April 2026 at PVR Lido, Juhu at 7pm! In Srinagar, Nargis searches for her missing husband, Manzoor, until she is forced to hopelessly return to her village. As she toils away weaving Manzoor’s unfinished shawl in the hopes of rebuilding her life, his sudden return threatens to unravel the quiet of the Kashmiri winter. Through its characters, ‘Maagh’ puts forth a story intertwining cultural identity and personal determination set against the vulnerable yet vivid social fabric of present-day Kashmir. The film premiered in the New Currents section of the 27th Busan International Film Festival. Born in Srinagar, Aamir Bashir is an actor and director based in Mumbai. He has acted in films and web series such as ‘Frozen’, ‘Haider’, ‘Sacred Games’ and ‘Inside Edge’. His directorial debut ‘Harud’ won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Urdu in 2012. The film will be introduced by the filmmaker, followed by a post-screening Q&A session. Entry is free, and managed via queue on a first-come, first-served basis.
