A small audiovisual sketch made during a pause.
I’ve been deep inside a long, multi-year project and felt myself growing tired of carrying something so heavy for so long. I missed the act of making without an endpoint, just following a feeling and seeing where it goes.
It’s late December - cold, wet, post-Christmas. That quiet stretch after the solstice where you start yearning for warmth again.
Sound, melody, and fragments edited by me.

Anima Arborea (2025). Found tree sculpture, projection-mapped digital animation. 09:56
This work began with a tree I found in an alley behind my home. I brought it home, pruned it, 3d scanned it, and projection-mapped it - transforming it into a ritual object that blooms and fades in an endless cycle.
Through an interplay of projection-mapped imagery, the tree extends beyond its physical form. Branches dissolve into luminous echoes, tracing recursive paths - dancing, blooming, dissolving, and beginning again. The piece builds on point cloud and gaussian splat workflows I’ve been developing over the past year in my live sets. Scans were captured with Polycam and LumaAI, the mesh cleaned and growth animations sculpted in Blender. Additional point cloud manipulation and projection-mapping were recorded in real-time with TouchDesigner.
Anima Arborea is both a meditation and an invocation - a spectral choreography that blurs presence and absence, emergence and decay. It’s a companion to To Hold a Vanishing Thing - another projection-mapped sculpture from Echoes in Bloom (more to be shared in a future post) - a stump, a memory. In contrast, Anima Arborea reaches forward - toward bloom, motion, and reawakening.

Reflecting on the past before stepping into what's next. This is Lost Illusions (2019), my last major artwork exhibited at @centre3_ during Supercrawl. Comprised of 18 individually hand-painted and screen-printed sheets of duralar, each over seven feet tall, this installation featured activated video projections and an immersive soundscape composed by @a_hutchie .
Lost Illusions marked an important chapter in my artistic practice. Tomorrow, after six years, I'll be installing Echoes in Bloom, my newest body of work, and I'm excited (and a little nostalgic) about what lies ahead.
This artwork was supported by the Ontario Arts Council’s Media Artist Creation Project (Emerging Artist) grant.

A couple weekends ago reminded me why I love this so much.
Thank you to @live.lab and @orphx_official for the honour of sharing the stage. 90 minutes of listening, responding, and drifting somewhere together.
This was my first live visual performance in 21 months.
Over the last two years, much of my focus shifted toward installation work. Bringing some of those ideas back into a live setting felt incredibly energizing.
Nothing in the set was fixed. Images were improvised live from evolving systems: generative sketches, camera feeds, light, textures, virtual environments, and realtime image processing. All continuously reshaped in response to the sound and the room.
What I love about this is its impermanence. Sometimes the sound, visuals, atmosphere and audience briefly synchronize into a shared state that feels larger than any individual element. Fragile, fleeting, impossible to repeat exactly the same way twice.
Very grateful to everyone who spent time inside it with us⚡️
Thanks to @deedss.2 for the additional footage 🖤

A structure slowly taking form.
The physical structure for Flowers from the Future is beginning to take shape: custom aluminum frames (designed by @tidal.pool ) built to hold recycled monitors in a V-shaped formation. Still very much a work in progress at this stage - many material experiments ahead as the structure gathers its character.
Background sounds are a small fragment of new music composed by @a_hutchie - also still unfolding.
Grateful to the City of Hamilton’s City Enrichment Fund for supporting the materials that made this structure possible.

The world dissolves, but the feeling remains. Work in progress snippet from a developing artwork titled Flowers from the Future.
Deeply grateful to the City of Hamilton’s Enrichment Fund for supporting the project’s first phase, and to the @ontarioartscouncil for generously supporting the next phase through the Media Arts Creation Projects (Established/Mid-Career Artists) program.
Excited to continue carrying this work forward. Lots more to come.
