On Wednesday, March 4th, in partnership with the Armenians @ Kaiser Permanente Hippocrates Circle Program, AAA welcomed 8th grade students from @agbumds to the USC Health Sciences Campus for an educational visit! 🧬🔬
The day began with an information session about USC Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, presented by current USC Mann PharmD students and AAA board members. Dr. Edith Mirzaian and Dr. Raffi Svadjian also joined us to share insights into their career journeys, answer students’ questions, and engage everyone with a fun “Candy or Medicine?” quiz. 💊
Students then participated in their own compounding lab, where they formulated custom hand sanitizer.
The visit continued with a campus tour, including a stop at USC’s Plaza Pharmacy. There, students were able to observe professional pharmacy operations firsthand. 🥼
We concluded the day with a clinical workshop focused on learning and practicing the manual blood pressure reading technique. 🩺🫀👩🏻⚕️🧑🏻⚕️
We are grateful for the opportunity to introduce these bright young students to the many career pathways in healthcare. We hope to see them back on campus one day as Trojans. Fight on! ✌🏼

We were honored to host the 8th grade MedPioneers from @ferrahian_school for an educational visit to the USC Health Sciences Campus!
The students started the morning with an overview of USC Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences programs from current USC Mann PharmD students. Dr. Raffi Svadjian, PharmD, MBA also joined us to talk about the PharmD program and answer students questions. 💊
The students then had their own compounding lab, where they formulated custom hand sanitizer! 🧪
We continued our day with a tour of the campus as well as a tour of USC Plaza Pharmacy. Students were able to enter the pharmacy and observe professional pharmacy operations. 🏥
Current USC Keck medical students joined us and spoke to the students about the medical program and their experiences.

We are thankful for the opportunity to provide these young students with an introduction to various careers in healthcare. We hope to see them back on campus in the future as Trojans! Fight on ✌️
