We discovered a few rare copies of “Ekstase 123” by Yutie Lee in our archive. Head to our website to get one before it is sold out for good.
In “Ekstase 123” Yutie Lee (@yutie_fitzpatrick ) combines fictional and historical stories of three iconic female figures who have dealt with the theme of coding in very different ways: The writer Ingeborg Bachmann dealt with the linguistic indivisibility of pain in her dream notations from 1962 to 1966; Hedy Lamarr, known primarily as an actress, invented an encrypted radio remote control during the Second World War, which is used in today’s Bluetooth devices, and the abbess, universal scholar, composer and mystic Hildegard von Bingen developed her own writing and language.
The artist’s publication is based on the so-called “litterae ignotae”. These are 23 secret letters invented by Hildegard von Bingen, from which Yutie Lee developed a digital font, supplemented by ten stylistically modified Chinese symbols as numbers. (Text: Tomke Braun)

OUT NOW: CMM Radio 📡 A geometric sans serif font reimagining the classic Futura typeface with legibility and inclusivity in mind.
This one has been waiting for its moment for 6 years and I am SO happy to finally release it today!
While it is one of many modern typefaces that takes its inspiration from the iconic first Futura sketches by Paul Renner from around 1924 – radical for its time – the goal was not to make a revival. It was to be even more consistent in the geometry of its letterforms while improving Futura’s readability shortfalls. Letter constructions were reimagined, x-height raised, sharp corners slightly cut, lines made as monolinear as possible.
The result is a workhorse typeface in its own right that can carry the clean look of modernism while being a versatile tool customizable to varying design needs and adaptable to different accessibility requirements.
You can choose between the default right-angled n’s, m’s and r’s – a telltale feature of the historic sketch – or Arched Letterforms, which give the typeface a completely different, more “conventional” flavour without breaking the design.
The Stylized Letterforms emphasize the circle as a symbol of sound waves and broadcasting, also echoing stylistic elements from technical construction and circuit drawings of old radio sets.
The Inclusive Letterforms avoid any mirrored shapes and help make a clear distinction between every single letter. This is a feature that in some ways contradicts the strictly geometric underpinnings of the typeface, and for this reason is usually not really seen in this category of fonts, expanding the geometric sans design space meaningfully.
The font is available as Regular and Regular Italic cuts or as a Variable Font for seamless animations. It supports 96 languages. An update with multiple weights and will follow later in 2026.

Rundbrief 6: Love letters, but as a feminist act.

Milestone moment 🚩 So very happy to be featured on @itsnicethat with CMM Coda!
Throughout and ever since my studies, INT has been my go-to place for inspiration and news on the creative industry, so I am absolutely thrilled that this is where the first article on @commatype has now been published. Their first request for a feature on my work came actually all the way back in 2019, but at the time the thought of that was scary and I didn’t feel ready yet for the exposure. Today, I am by far more proud and excited than anything else, so it’s finally come full circle!
Huge thanks to @harold__bennett for his words and @olivia_hingley for coordinating 💘

🌔 CMM Coda In Use 🌘
.moving pictures experimental garage (@kunstraum.mpeg ) is a platform for contemporary video art and experimental film run by Filmische Initiative Leipzig FILZ e.V. (@filmischeinitiative ). It showcases monthly rotating moving image works after dusk in a video display window in Leipzig, Germany, and facilitates cultural participation in public spaces for people of different age groups, backgrounds, and areas of interest.
The website mpeg-art.space serves as .mpeg’s second home, designed to mirror and digitally extend the physical space in Leipzig. The city’s local time and current light situation is reflected as if on the garage’s blurred window. The work currently on view is shown within a digital simulation of the recessed black space inside the garage. An archive documents all works shown since the project’s inception and includes synopsis, stills and interviews.
Our typeface CMM Coda Normalized Proportional was chosen alongside the existing logotype set in Block Berthold Regular to match its softness and proportions.

CMM Coda is a warm typewriter font with subtly rounded edges and an analogue aesthetic, echoing its historical inspiration, the typewriter font Dual Gothic. It comes in three styles: Mono Sans, Mono Serif and Proportional, each with accompanying italic styles. It is a versatile and unusually structured type family with many alternates that completely change the look of the typeface, giving an array of options across different use cases and text types while maintaining a common design DNA.

CMM Modul is a constructed geometric display typeface with two personalities: one a child in play, the other rigorous architect. Its potential lies between experimentation and logic, looseness and stability, motion and order.
Each letter is composed from a small set of simple modules designed to balance simplicity and readability. Stylistic sets offer many options for customisation such as alternative letters, a stencil version and placing letters with descenders on the baseline to enable extra compact line spacing.

For a few years now I’ve wanted to work more with and on type, learn more, refine in-progress typefaces and get going on all the ideas still stuck in my head. I have also wanted to find a way to share my work more easily with you lovely people as requests for my typefaces have been increasing. It’s been a long winding road towards building this little playground, and I am looking forward to see where it goes from here!
I want to give a huge shoutout to everyone who has cheered me on along the way, I trust you know who you are 🩷 Without exception everyone I have talked to about this in the past year has been so supportive and I could not have kept it going without your encouragement.
Much love to all the early adopters who have already requested or purchased fonts from me 💙 You have no idea how exciting it is to see my typefaces re-imagined in your work – this is why I do this!
And a very special thank you to the lovely type nerds who have graciously taken out hours of their time over the past months to discuss typefaces and type foundries with me, answered my questions, provided feedback and perspective, shared their knowledge and experience, and taught me some of their tricks – it's been of invaluable help. @sascha.bente@buerobumbum@magma_____design_studio@celinehurka@elias_hanzer@lucasliccini@johannesbreyerr@abcdinamo 💛
Stay tuned as I’ll be sharing more about the typefaces in the coming week!

If we have talked in the past half year you know what this is 🙃
I am so so close to finalizing some of my typefaces for a big launch! Have definitely underestimated my inner perfectionist... But we‘re getting there.

Currently revising some of my typefaces in preparation for an exciting launch soon 🤫
This is Relict Regular, an early design that started as part of my diploma project in 2017. It's a fun challenge to rework and refine it while trying to preserve the spirit of some of the charming mistakes and naive ideas one can only have when knowing next to nothing about type design 🙃

Decided to move anything non-design over to a twin account @a____crns where I just have some fun with materials and images and flowers and do diy and draw and make a mess 🤲
