Etched In Skin
“My grandfather was larger than life. He had a way of being able to turn any day, any moment into something spectacular. Today marks 20 years without him. Being a kid at the time the only way I knew how to handle his passing was to not. I was a few months into starting guitar and Metallica and My Chemical Romance were the perfect escape. As the years went on I slowly began trying to face his absence. The tattoo on my wrist was a good starting point. For whatever reason when I was writing Etched In Skin his birthday fit perfectly as the opening line. Once I figured that out, the song took on a life of its own and through it I was finally able to properly deal with him being gone. It’s true that you never come to accept someone’s passing, you just adjust to the new reality. Beyond memories I believe we honor the lives of our loved ones through the way we live our own.”

Going over the verse guitar parts for Pew Pressure
Playing my @officialjacksonguitars RR24 from the music video.
In the past both left and right would’ve done the power chords and then the bigger chords would’ve been added on top of them. By splitting them up it leaves more room for the vocals so then when the rhythm guitars are playing the same thing there is more of an impact. The guitar orchestration of Ray Toro and Frank Iero on Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge is awe inspiring. The same goes for Aiden’s Nightmare Anatomy as well.
Prayers for those that contributed to Pew Pressure

Going over the bridge riff to Initiative by @a2tragedy with my @officialjacksonguitars RR24
Funeral For A Friend was a band that inspired me a lot. Their way of incorporating metal riffs and influences in a non metal context (emo) was really eye opening.
It’s been 2 years since Terrified
Terrified was a bridge between the past and present. The metalcore influences of our first record with the emo sound of Reinventing Romance.
Terrified was also our first song with session drummer @ryanloerkedrums and his playing brought a sense of dynamics and urgency to our music.

Our new song Pew Pressure features guest vocals from Josh Stuart of @behindcrimsoneyes
As a teenager I used to try to copy the way Josh screamed so to have him on a song is incredibly cool and full circle. Thankful for his time and talent.
