⾕ An NYC design discovery trip to @thesomersethouse
Other than furniture-making, I’ve realized how the art of bringing pieces together from different parts of the world is a craft in itself.
I’ve always been drawn to curation rooted in different design movements and eras. This penthouse brings in Italian and Danish Modern to subtle hints of Baroque and Primitive.
Each piece present carries so much character and history, yet still feels timeless still. Was a dream to visit and source here.
Present in New York for @radnor.co ‘s second gallery space, set within the penthouse of Brooklyn Tower overlooking the whole city.
The opening unfolded with ”Through Light and Matter” —a simultaneous debut of new works by Los Angeles–based textile artist @rachelduvall .
Getting to know the people behind brands at this level—those who share a similar design philosophy with ours—is always really special. ◐ Congratulations for this milestone, @sueclarks and @ceg619 !

Kaori: A Study in Restraint
Rooted in a Asian sensibility, each element is pared back—allowing material, texture, and proportion to take presence. Nothing is excessive, yet nothing is without purpose. In this restraint, the space finds its depth.
If you’re looking to shape your own space with the same care and intention, we invite you to begin the conversation with us.
Our vision is simple: to bring the A SPHERE philosophy into every place we touch. Spaces designed with intention, guided by experience, and grounded in the human spirit. Each project becomes a dialogue between form, feeling, and function.

This coffee shop reflects an exploration of atmosphere over form. Kaori draws from the idea of aroma—how something unseen can shape experience and memory—while echoing the quiet, grounded presence of a temple translated into a contemporary space.
Through a restrained palette and thoughtful detailing, the space holds calm while allowing meaning to surface gradually. A reminder that design does not need to be loud to be deeply felt.

This rendered walkthrough offers a glimpse into our PIFS booth, imagined as a boutique-inspired retreat shaped by comfort, movement, and thoughtful design. Every detail was considered to create a space that feels familiar from the very first moment.

You hear the site long before you see the design.
Echoes of tools, measured footsteps, quiet conversations.
A reminder that every space begins in motion.
A rest house. An office. A home.
One day, three sites—each with a distinct rhythm and purpose. Though the visits unfolded back-to-back, every project was given the time and care it deserved. Being on-site allows us to engage deeply with context, material, and flow. At Å SPHERE, intention remains constant, no matter how many spaces we step into.
[day 1 design journal, with subs] 🌇 Receiving the news that I was accepted to the @aesop × @design.anthology Sensory Retreat experience, I immediately booked the trip—despite last year’s busy schedule.
To discover another layer of depth in design, far from home, is truly a gift. This trip reminded me that design is deeply personal and intimate, beyond where you are from. It’s not about who creates the best, but who understands themselves—and others—most deeply. 🎋
