Excited to share that I’m a participating artist in “time. place.”, a show curated by Ashley Layendecker. You can see my piece “517 College Street” at The Emporium in Knoxville, Tennessee tonight.
In Ashley’s words, the exhibition looks at how time and geography shape artistic practice—and how creative relationships influence the ways we work, support one another, and build shared consciousness. Grounded in the proverb “iron sharpens iron,” the show centers mutually beneficial relationships rooted in accountability, encouragement, and constructive feedback.
The exhibition features artists who are Tennessee-based, Tennessee-born, or deeply influenced by the region, with strong ties to Knoxville + Nashville. Featured artists will also respond to a prompt about the significance of time and place within their practice; reflections will be shared during the run and discussed on a closing-weekend artist panel during Big Ears Festival (date/time forthcoming).
Artists include: Asafe Pereira, Benjy Russell, Brandon Donahue-Shipp, Brianna Bass, Daniel Bruce Hughes, Eric Cagley, Josh Bienko, Joshua Shorey, Katarina Riesing, Kayla Rumpp, Lynne Marinelli Ghenov, Megan White, Nathan Sulfaro, Rubens Ghenov, and Thomas Wharton.
