Google Photos just sent me a gift I didn’t know I needed 🎁 3 years ago this week, I stood on stage as the emcee of Google Vision Summit—a room absolutely radiating with Black Girl Magic. And honestly? I don’t recall taking a moment and celebrating this accomplishment. But that’s the thing about growth—we move so fast, we forget to pause and recognize the moments where we “shine(d) bright like a diamond 💎 “ as Rihanna says☺️. So here’s my pause. And if you’re new here, welcome 👋🏾 I’m Frenchy, and I live at the intersection of tech, travel, business, and breaking a sweat. By day: AI Program Manager at Google, building programs that help thousands leverage AI (—but that’s a story for another post) By night & weekend: Chief Events Officer of Event Design Bar, my events production company—where we bring visions to life, from intimate gatherings to full-scale brand activations. Give us a follow @eventdesignbar . But really? I’m just a Hampton grad who moved to Atlanta almost 3 years ago and decided to build community everywhere I go—in organizations, at dinner tables, on event floors, and running trails. Follow along if you’re here for: AI made simple, my travel adventures, event magic, and the occasional running update 🏃🏾‍♀️💨

13.1 miles for my first love. My first friend. My mom. 3 years ago, colon cancer took her from this earth. But it couldn’t take her from me. I didn’t run this race to win. I ran it to finish. Because that’s what she taught me—you don’t have to be the fastest, you just have to keep going. One foot in front of the other. Even when it hurts. Especially when it hurts. There were miles where my legs screamed at me to stop. But I kept hearing her voice: “I’m proud of you.” So I kept going. Mile 10, I cried. Mile 12, I smiled. Mile 13.1, I crossed that finish line carrying every lesson she ever gave me. Grief doesn’t get smaller. You just get stronger. Strong enough to carry it with you across finish lines you never thought you’d see. Mom, I finished. 🤍 This one was always for you. — If you’ve lost someone and you’re still putting one foot in front of the other, I see you. That’s the race that matters. #PhiladelphiaHalfMarathon #RunningForHer #GriefAndGrowth #ColonCancerAwareness #ForMyMom #FinishLine #KeepOnScratchin

The blessings aren’t just the big wins - though those count. it’s the textures. the friendships with roots now. the communities you built because you needed. the mornings you wake up designing a life that actually feels like yours. it’s realizing you’ve been carrying more capacity than you knew you had. holding grief and joy in the same hands. healing while leading. learning your own language while teaching others. the real blessing? learning to notice it all while it’s happening. not just moving through life, but pausing long enough to let gratitude wash over you. God is Good!
