Dayone DMV || Elements XXIV 2026 || Born Again
As another Elements comes and goes, it’s crazy to look back and see how far this team has come since January. My piece was a true testament to explosive movement and I didn’t know how the team would take it. It was a heightened version of my previous sections and I was a little nervous about how it would turn out. I can say that my fears were quickly dismissed and my eyes began to see stars with how much talent I had to use. My cast, thank you for all of your hard work and dedication throughout this process. Without you this crazy idea of mine could’ve never been possible.
As many know, I lost a dear friend during this process and the emotional pain I was going through was very apparent at rehearsal. I’m so glad I had my team because I don’t know what I’ve would’ve gone through without everyone’s love and support. The day of the show was really tough for me because I wanted nothing more for him to be there to see all the hard work that our team did to put on this really great performance. But also in my heart of hearts, I knew he was there. He was right beside me dancing and sharing his love for dance and I took that love and passion and felt it the entire 5 minutes of this set. In my mind I said I was dancing for him but moreover it’s the fact that my love for him lets me dance that hard and with so much passion and care. I love you Sam for the person you are and the love and care you had for you craft that will carry on in anyone who’s life you crossed paths with.
To Dayone:My team with such beautiful and goofy people. I couldn’t do this alone. I’ve been told many times that people are surprised that I’m still on a team given my talent level and how they can definitely see me getting booked or doing something behind an artist. While that may be true, the reason I come back season after season is because of this group of people that I call my chosen family. Throughout all the late rehearsals, the immense laughter and excitement we see when walking into the studio, even the tears we want to hide but the second we see each other, it makes the tears flow even more. I’d never want to give that up. 🫶🏾🫶🏾
Elements 2025 | Dayone | Desert Wasteland
Whew where do I begin with this one. There’s so much to be said about this entire elements prep. From coming up with the mix through iteration and iteration ( 11 to be exact) trying to figuring out how to properly portray our theme. The long grueling hours of the creatives, our members, and our fashion committee to really make sure our set really felt good to us and made sense to anyone who was in attendance. Our hard work and tears, the injuries we sustained to really give an experience to the elements stage. Our love for our teammates and everyone who participated that night. Overall we really wanted to take you to a barren wasteland and I hope we were able to do that.
To my creatives:
I hope you feel the same honor and love I have for this set. We worked our asses off to give this performance and I hope that people will say that this was a top 3 Dayone set. I appreciate all of your hardworking, dedication, and tireless work throughout this process and I couldn’t ask for a better group to work with.
To all of the elements cast members:
Everyone on this team deserves a standing ovation for the way yall devoured anything that was thrown at you. From multiple changes and versions of our particular section to days where we had to be at the studio late. You each hold a special place in my heart for going through this process. And I know that this prep made us all closer, not just as individuals but as a team. Special shoutout for the fashion committee for making us look sooo good and really bring the desert to the stage. It couldnt have been fully realized without you.
And to Me:
You are without a doubt a beautiful soul with flaws and while you may want to take all of your problems and shoulder them on your own, know that there is a team who loves and supports you in anything that you do. We may get burnt out from time to time but hopefully that fuels your fire even brighter. thank you to @bufusion for having us. It was truly an experience

DAYONE// Water Set// Elements 2024🌊
These past few months have been some of the most challenging and rewarding times I’ve had within the past year. Being apart of the creative process of this set taught me allot about myself as an instructor and it also taught me allot about how much impact I have even when I don’t know it. To be truly transparent, the last year wasn’t always kind to me and I’ve gone through some very unfortunate things. I was honestly glad to be back home and then @kennyhnguyen_ called me and asked if I wanted to choreograph for the elements set and I said yes with no hesitation. What started out as just a 15 second peice turned into me( in collaboration with so many other beautifully talented minds) having my hands on different parts of the set with the intro and outro (shoutout to Francis with the collab). I’ve never had this much help with a set ever so it felt like I could throw as many crazy ideas out without having to limit myself. I wouldn’t trade this process with anything else!

To my fellow choreographers: I appreciate each and every one of you so much. All of you brought everything you had to this set and it was so great being apart of it all with you guys. You guys have helped me tremendously and I don’t know what I would’ve done without you. Each and every one of you should be proud of everything we put into this set and I hope we can create something special together again wherever that me be.

To my Dayone team: all of you are so special! We had 7 weeks to put all of this together and I thank everyone for their hardwork, dedication and, love for the team to come out with a dub. I truly love all of you and see you as another family. I know we’ll all start to do our own things and live our own lives one again but please know that I will remember each beautiful, hilariously goofy moment we’ve all shared. I’ll love you forever my bronze bandits 🥉🫶🏾

What a weekend this was. From being able to perform with my team and placing to having my face on a teaching flyer in a city I’ve dreamed of teaching in. This one was too fun. Appreciate everyone who came out and this won’t be the last class I teach here. All love to @moversbodega for having me.
