Better late than never! #machinabristronica was absolutely incredible and I feel so lucky to have been able to have a table there this year. Thanks so much to everyone who came and tried out the things I've made or helped me in my quest to get a photo of my dogs into as many eurorack systems as possible :D It was also an absolute honour to be able to show off some modules made by @dwyfortech and Divergent Waves as part of the new thing I'm forming called @southwestsynth !
It was so lovely to catch up with friends, some of who I have photos with and some I don't (sorry Divkid, Astrid & Manu) and meet new cool people. I still can't believe I got interviewed by @sonicstateuk so thanks so much to @gazwilliamsbass for introducing us :D
Thanks especially for all the kindness regarding my eurorack modules but especially regarding It's Still Raining which you can preorder now but is set for release in march. (Newsletter in Bio)
Take care, see you all again soon 💛💛💛

BUT WAIT, THERES MORE!! Presenting Rummage!
This module is a bit like a plant whisperer! Simply connect it to a plant (or anything biological for that matter!) and it churns out a sweet trio of Note CV and Gate signals. But wait, there's more! It also spits out a raw PWM Biodata square wave, a wobbly CV output, and even throws in a MIDI out for good measure. Talk about a botanical boogie, eh?
A small batch of rummages are available now on my website and in Europe/online at @elevatorsoundbristol with a full production run and units in stock in the USA via @oamodular next month! (I'll keep you posted 👀👀👀)

Just because I’m not at #superbooth doesn’t mean I can’t show you what I’m working on!
1) It’s Still Raining MK2 testing has been going well.
2) Bristol Communal Modular has had a play with it and a few other prototypes 👀👀👀
3) I’m adding the finishing touches to Shimmer my scriptable #midi box.
4) I have been experimenting with a standalone synthesiser on my Sprig platform.
5) Just a very satisfying photo of the IO pcb stack up on shimmer.
6) I have been having a lot of fun adding the finishing touches to my speakers and multichannel amp.
7) an inside shot of It’s Still Raining MK2 , also powered by my new Sprig DSP board.
8) Bonus Photo of my dogs from a lovely trip to Cornwall I had with my family.
Sorry things have been a bit slower here, I’ve been finishing up my undergrad. I can’t wait to introduce these projects to you properly!

Feb & March ‘26
As you can probably tell I’ve been a tad busy so you get two months of updates for the price of one!!
1) I had an amazing time at @noisemakermarket showing off my pedals and a new midi thing :) It was so nice to meet lots of lovely people, catch up with friends and chat about pedals. Got some wonderful photos taken by @samfrankwood_ so any NMM photos that look good were taken by him.
2) I had the first public showcase of my Spatial Audio system at a @pervasivemediastudio first Friday event and got some brilliant feedback.
3) people really enjoyed the tremolo pedal I am working on as well as the promise of an updated pedal 👀👀👀
4) I started working on Shimmer!! A scriptable generative midi & midi processor box with beautiful visualisations. I did most of the development over the course of two weeks and people seem to really like it and are already making scripts!!!
5) Had the pleasure of going to noise maker market together with @finlayshakespeare and @lottiecanto which definitely made the drive less dull. Had to stop at Gloucester services; glad it didn’t ruin the word tour.
6) I tested some different weird speaker layouts of my omni speakers.
7) Went to my first @creativecodebristol and brought along my v0 shimmer prototype to work on the web editor.
8) played with one of the pretty shimmer scripts a bit more.

👋 We have a NEW maker joining us on 29th March — meet Thawney, stepping in for Frequency Central who sadly can no longer make it. Thawney is Robin Thorn, a nonbinary musician, programmer, designer, and all-round creator with a keen interest in spacial audio and haptics, particularly in the interest of improvising accessibility in music and art.

As promised here is an incredibly belated January recap (Feb has been busy but you will hear more about that later!). What a lovely start to the year, lots of fun things coming up (and some stressful ones). It’s going to be great.
1) First pedal of the year shipped out and I’m happy with my packaging experiments so far. Thanks for supporting me and my weird little audio projects, it means a lot to me.
2&3) I started preparing to show off a minimal version of my speaker system and collaborated with the amazing @tonynach0 to make some music to play on it. It was fun to experiment with mixing and making for the system.
4) I have been working on making a second spatial haptic system and all of the 3d printed parts now exist.
5) Spent a day with @drakemusicorg and @themusicworksglos at the first DMLAB hackathon in Gloucester. So fun to meet people and help to teach electronics.
6) Uni has ramped up a bit but that means I get to spend time with fancy SSL consoles to record and mix music which is always fun.
7) more speaker testing in a dead room is tedious but so worth it.
8&9) I have been experimenting with cheap audio amplifiers such as this quadraphonic one on prototype boards but also a super tiny 1.2x1.8mm 18WATT amp which has 0.4mm pins on it. Technology truly is mad sometimes :D
10) I had the absolute pleasure of coaching a game of wheelchair basketball for UWE pirates, the team I play on, which was great fun and also terrifying. I usually help to coach a children’s class so this was a bit of a jump in age for my usual coaching style 😂😂😂

I got inspired by @theoverloadproject s monthly recaps so I thought I would do my own! 2025 has been a really lovely year and I have been terrible at documenting it (expect some proper posts about projects … soon)
This has been a great year (and very busy month) of projects and exciting collaborations. I can’t wait to see what 2026 holds.
1) I started doing some tests of my speaker designs in a dead room. Here’s a photo of an old diffuser being tested.
2) A photo of some of the data from acoustic measurements on my computer screen.
3) I helped my friend James Wheale with some tech bits and bobs for his @beatblocks and Spatial Audio project that was shown at the @pervasivemediastudio first Friday event. Here you can see people standing on the light up haptic floor for the first time.
4) @n_i_kuu showing us the Spatial Audio system for their immersive sound installation with @knowlewestmedia .
5) playing with a prototype midi instrument made by @cryotato@kitterchord it is very pretty and has nice lights.
6) I am designing my own audio development board which can do 4 channels of high quality audio shenanigans this is my first go at its input and output design.
7) Little recording from the first time I did stereo playback on my speaker system prototype. My (very chaotic ) new workshop space is in the background too.
8) A cheeky November photo from the audio developer conference where I saw another cool Spatial Audio project. ADC was lovely and it was nice to spend a lot of time with my friends at the midi association and accessibility area. As well as meeting so many other brilliant people.

We can hear @thawney_ showing off their eclectic wares loud and clear! Modular, pedals and plant music based things 👾 Plus a secret pocket based scoop!
I had the absolute pleasure of creating this tshirt design for @_thawney for them to wear at machina bristronica last weekend! It’s wonderful to see my design out in the wild and i loved getting to make something for an amazing creator like Robin!! thank you for asking me to do this Robin! Id love to do more commissions like this in the future! Hit me up if you fancy working together :•)

I have always been a fan of using guitar pedals on vocals :D Here is a lovely moment from a @bristol_communal_modular night where @slowandsunlit had a play with the pedal for the first time!
!!There are only a few pedals left in this batch before the next restock :D!!
