June 20th, TaXda returns with new music on all DSPs. For the past few years, TaXda has been stocking up some good jams. Now, it's time to show the pantry. From 2021 Kuvaka Muchina to 2025s AfroFunkinSoul Ep, the music has evolved. TaXda has added Mbira into his already African Sound. 3 singles form the backbone of the EP, Afro Carnival, Out 20 June, Funkin Afro and Afro Souled. All are songs inspired by a successful future of Africa. It's an imagination of how music will be then, but we start now.
Lookout for links, although the songs will be on your favorite streaming platform, whatever it is.
I enjoy doing unusual things with gear, like putting a vocal through a C4 Synth pedal. It's a great way to let loose and also, bump into ideas.
Here's some impressions I tried, a synth bike and a synth laugh. I forgot to max the mix knob, lol.

This Sunday is for Jazz. The Joy of Jazz.
Opening act is Standard Bank’s Young Musician of the Year, Muneyi.
We’ve been following him since he broke into the SA music scene, and have become friends and extended family to him (along with other muso’s in his circle, like Kekelingo and Taxenda).
He’s going places. What a privilege to see him live on stage.
I hope everyone is still enjoying my single which is out now!
If not the link is in my bio please do check it out 😊
I just want to give a big shout out to all the people who helped me put it together.
They are all incredible artists in their own right, please go and check their music as well.
Thank you gents 🙏🏾
God bless!!
You’re invited.
I’m happy to be back at @sanctuarymandela .. last time we were here, we had an amazing time. If you missed the first show, you won’t want to miss this one.
Book your seat now. Space is limited.
See you soon
One thing I've always enjoyed is making music with just the bass. There are many ways around this, and today, I'm blessed to be using a Boss GT1B. I've had one for almost a year, and it's made such a positive difference to my vibes.
I thought I'd use the pedal in stereo to hear how that sounds. Bass is usually handled in mono, but with a fit multi-fx pedal and L+R outputs, why not go stereo.
All the patches I used are customized versions of patches available on the purchase of the pedal. There is no other processing outside of Master Bus compression and Eq.
If you like what you hear, hmu and let me know how I can help.
I used a #Bacchus WL5 Jazz bass with #ElixirStrings (Stainless Steels) that are 7 months old. Great strings.

I DO NOT OWN COPYRIGHTS TO THIS MUSIC. The use of it is mostly just learning and sharing ideas. Shoutout to @theezoemolelekwa for the Remasters 🙌🏾. I love this song to bits and Taiwas music in general. My friend and brother @tinostraver hit me up, and we decided we were going to check this song on Double Bass and on Fretless bass. He has already delivered, and I've been dragging. I have had the acoustic fretless for a lil over 2 years now, and I can tell by how it feels in my hands. I've almost given up on it many times because of tonal frustrations, lack of audible progress, and impatience, I guess. I'm glad I got over it. The double bass is a whole other creature. I'm a few months in, and it'll need time. I love that I connect with it, the sound, the warmth, and the aura. I pray I'll be decent soon. The whole point of our exercise was to work on intonation. I give myself 4/10 on Double Bass and 5/10 on Fretless 🤣. Enjoy
Afro Carnival, the new TaXda song inspired by African Essence and the future, is out now and available on all DSPs except in Russia.
Shoutout to Aural Sense and The Orchard
Just want to thank the great people who were involved in this project.
@agasi_nilotic and @thembacoolkrugermhlongo on tenor and alto Sax, respectively
Shadrack "Shado" Fana on guitar
@liyasakha and @mkhulekomabunda on keys
I'd like to especially thank @cami.drum.loops for the drums and perc patternI found on @instagram that somehow fit into what I was doing. I didn't change the key or tempo of the loop. Just asked for permission and moved. It was a divine design, and I'm grateful. Almost everything about getting this song ready felt that way
Shoutout to @simzkulla for Mastering and @sfisoatomza and @kushmnyamane for yonk'into.
Without @themuffinzmusic , most of this isn't possible
