Recently I had the pleasure of attending an NVG hostage rescue course put on by @tapracktactical and @presscheckconsulting . Thank you to @bear_the_patriot for setting it up, @_ssert_ for sending some of our team guys, @_ssoa_ for sponsoring some spots, and all the other homies in attendance to make it possible! We learned a lot over the course of 5 days and 45 hours. Unfortunately I can not post much of the tactics taught but you get the idea. If you get a chance to train with either of these dudes I highly recommend you take advantage of the opportunity!

It is with a heavy heart that I write this... Gary Hibbs has passed away. Just over a week ago, Gary suffered a cardiac issue while fighting with a domestic battery offender. He has been hospitalized since and passed away this morning.
Gary served Chicago Heights for 26 years. Gary was a range officer/firearms instructor, armorer, and department trainer. He spent almost 14 years on the SSERT - South Suburban Emergency Response Team as a firearms instructor, master breacher, and team leader.
Gary is well-known in the south suburbs and is truly loved by all. His son, Jimmy, carries on the Hibbs legacy by working for the same agency and serving as an assaulter on SSERT.
Gary will always be a legendary Southside cop. But Gary loved being a father and grandfather far more than being a cop and swat man. Old teammates recount Gary brining little Jimmy to trainings and describe Gary as loving his son more than anything. Now, our swat family saw how much Gary loved his granddaughters. Gary was the best kind of man. A kind and gentle man capable of extreme violence if necessary, a man willing to give his life for others, a man that loved his family more than words can ever describe.
We will miss you. Thank you for all you have done. We have the watch from here.
Prayers are needed for Santa.... Gary is a former operator of our team, an active SSOA member, a mentor to many, and the father of one of our current team members. Today he had a major medical emergency while fighting w a suspect, and he needs everyone's prayers.
