Austurbæjarbíó was one of the first houses built in Iceland as a movie theater and concert hall, opening in 1947. The most famous concert has to have been when The Kinks played in 1965, when the legendary (partly queer) band played eight times to a full house of screaming teenagers, while the house was used as a movie theater in between shows. Austurbæjarbíó also has a rich history with political and activist meetings, i.e. for peace gathering for Vietnam and Socialist gatherings. The third floor, Silfurtunglið (named after a Laxness play), opened in 1955 and for two decades was a popular dance spot with live music ranging from rock’n’roll to old Icelandic dances. The house is full of gloomy hallways and basement rooms, where you can find old films, a coal boiler room and a 40’s film projector. If you look around you can still see a lot of the original architecture and items, in the ceiling line shapes, the old bathroom urinals and the enormous disco ball. The history is tangible, it’s easy to picture the partying of our ancestors. Decades ago in Reykjavík it was not easy to be openly queer, with people gathering in their own bars (shoutout to Hábær) and cruising in the Öskjuhlíð hill area. But in a swarm of young people dancing in Silfurtungl, or a crowd of frantic teenagers in a rock concert in Austurbæjarbíó, we were always there, holding eye contact a second longer, in our own world inside of this world. 🫧💅 Photos from Sarpur Þjóðminjasafn. 🫧 We are delighted to announce the lush @knackered.xyz , who will lead us on a live journey in how we can blur the boundary of electronic music in a club setting 🫧 Knackered produces genre-defying, playful and sound-designy electronic music that draws inspiration from post-club, UK rave, and 2000’s hip-hop and r&b. /knackere_xyz/ Additional graphics @lognsins 🪡

🫧We are so delighted to welcome our queen and king, the gorgeous b2b duo @countessmalaise @darrenmarktr . On the night of, we'll expect a surprise or two..🫧 Countess Malaise is an Icelandic and international underground gem—beloved by real divas, emokids, and hot boys alike. Known for a raging live presence and melancholic yet cunty wordplay, she’s just a real ahh bihh. From tiny garages to queer raves, squats, festivals, and sticky dance floors, her dark avant-garde aura and sincere, edgy swag always cut through the noise. Not a DJ by trade but a lifelong music freak, Countess Malaise knows exactly what moves a body and breaks a heart. /countessmalaise Darren, a tattooer, mixed media artist and member of the collective Lucky 3. Expect spinning tunes of cunty trance and acid, a sprinkle of old and new. Additional graphics @lognsins 🪡

🫧We are thrilled an excited to welcome our gorgeous djdjdj @katr1nloa to Sleikur 7.0🫧 lóa crafts sweaty and high-energy sets that blur genre lines and hit hard. Expect bass-heavy pressure and chopped-up, hypnotic vocals—entering realms of UK bass, footwork, baile rhythms, and deconstructed club, with lots and lots of chaotic beauty. /djloadjloa Additional graphics @lognsins 🪡

🫧We are thrilled and excited to welcome Peachlyfe (PEACCH Records, @endurance.cph , @fastforwardproductions ) to Sleikur 7.0, hailing from Copenhagen🫧 @peachlyfe is an artist of playful provocation. Blending psychoactive techno, swampy psy-trance, and alien acid, their DJ sets intentionally induce a state of sonic mindfuck, while their holistic live performances target transcendence. Transitioning through jazz music, composition, and the electric bass, peachlyfe rejected the rigidity of their formal conservatory training after finding freedom and empowerment in the culture and queer community of electronic music. Since then, the @fastforwardproductions member and @endurance.cph resident has become a mainstay within Copenhagen’s fast-growing techno scene, and earned an international following that’s seen them booked across 4 continents. Approaching production as a conceptual art form, their creative offerings are defined by innovation and irreverence—from the playfully elemental Boi \_( ̄ ツ)_/ ̄EP (a sonic imagining of four transmasculine superheroes) to the sci-fi story that guides their first full-length album Permission to Roam, released on Nene H’s UMAY in 2024. In December 2024 peachlyfe introduced to the world their alternate alias Soft Pxrn, releasing the EP Raver Equation on their own imprint PEACCH Records. While peachlyfe's music is fast-paced and high-energy, Soft Pxrn explores the deeper, more melodic realms of progressive house and trance-infused rave sounds. Whether in the studio or behind the booth—Basement or Bassiani —Berlin to Beijing— peachlyfe’s sonic nectar is always freshly squeezed. /peach-lyfe / Additional Graphics @lognsins 🪡
