When Tiny Furniture came out in 2010, I was a junior in high school in Providence, RI with dreams of one day, maybe, hopefully becoming a writer. Then a teacher offered me a bit of encouragement: she ripped out the pages of a profile she’d just read in the New Yorker and said “this girl reminds me of you.”
That “girl,” Lena Dunham, had officially entered my psyche and cracked it right open. Everything I’ve ever written has had her fingerprints all over it, and to now get to bring something into the world *with* her is a dream I didn’t know to ever dream. Thank you to @goodthinggoingprods@workingtitlefilms@creativeartistsagency and, most importantly, Mrs. Miller — teacher’s matter!!
Marnie would *definitely* have this on her nightstand.
For Bustle’s latest One Nightstand, @aw sits down with @_sleach to chat some of her favorite books — and Marnie’s. Watch the full episode at the link in bio.
