Next KVLL COLONISERS announced, and it's with the amazing
@dei_genetrix ,
@_shonalika_ ,
@floralis_lc and Dust! Let's celebrate the death of James Cook! Victory to the colonised world!
KVLL COLONISERS is a Brighton gig night aimed at all marginalised people and anti imperialists, uniting local action groups with live music, raffles, etc. in order to get more people mobilised and empower our communities. We try to host every show around the time of a famous coloniser's death.
All of our shows have a minimum of 50% POC lineup.
We would like all shows in Brighton and Hove to have a minimum of one POC per bill, and we believe in leading by example.
As a recent addition, we have added free tickets for refugees, asylum seekers and low income migrants. Please share these with anyone that you believe would like them.
Our next event, on February 12th, will be headlined by Girls Rituals: one of the projects of Devi McCallion, who is one of the most influential trans electronic musicians of the last 15 years. Also on the lineup is gothic hip hop artist Shonalika, anarchist art pop musician Floralis, and atmospheric performance artist Dust. It will be hosted in Waterbear Music Bar, which is in Kemp Town on Manchester Street (not to be confused by their seafront venue).
Please note that this venue is down a flight of stairs. Sadly, we weren't able to get a wheelchair friendly venue for this show, but the show in London on 13th February is at a venue with a step free access!
Girls Rituals will be playing several other shows across this tour, organised largely in conjunction with T4Tunes as well as some other promoters such as Simulacracatfight. Loads of planning was done by T4Tunes to help pull this tour off, and you can catch Girls Rituals at the following shows:
