We closed Titus(La clemenza di Tito) yesterday. What a journey it has been.
Tito was my 8th role debut of the season. Inevitably, I was already running on a tank that was not full, and learning and working on this monster role while doing my best to keep up with another monster role that I had just debuted in mid-March—Frederic in The Pirates of Penzance—was a truly life-changing experience for me.
I am extremely grateful to
@michaelpapconductor ,
@maurice.lenhard , Eytan, Stephan, Günter,
@chr.flaskamp , Susanne, and Celia for their infinite support and care throughout this production. And huge congratulations and thanks to my fantastic castmates.
I am far from mastering this legendary role, but for now, I am very happy and proud of the journey I took with it this time around. I am excited to see at what point in my life this role will come back off the bookshelf.
Deeply grateful for the reviews from the Viennese press:
“Seiyoung Kim, who already appeared at the Salzburg Festival in Eötvös’ Three Sisters, masters the demanding role of Titus with bravura.”
— Kurier
@kurier (Susanne Zobl)
