What started as an empty ground-floor space in the heart of the city became a vibrant hub for creativity, dialogue, and discovery. Over the past year, more than 5,000 of you walked through our doors to celebrate art, culture, and the environment. This space was always about transformation: turning a meanwhile-use site into something meaningful, something that could spark ideas and bring people together. Across five exhibitions, we explored urgent questions about technology, climate, materials, and community: 🎨 Move 37: Aftermaths and Alluvion – probing the intersection of art, technology, and the subconscious. A breakthrough moment in AI’s creative and strategic thinking. @matcollishawstudio @matcollishaw 🌍 UAL: Public Art in the Time of Crisis – asking how public art can respond to the pressing crises of our time, from environmental degradation to social and racial injustice. @camberwellual ♻️ Studio Swine: Crafting the Future from What Remains – rethinking our relationship with materials and imagining how waste can become a source of beauty and innovation. 🌸 In Bloom – showcasing the winners of TfL’s 2024 competition alongside historic photography from the London Transport Museum, reflecting on the transformation of London’s urban landscape. @transportforlondon @nationaltrustlondon @bernice.mulenga ☁️ Cloud Messengers – tracing the invisible threads that bind natural forces to systems of capital and control in a time of climate crisis. @raqsmediacollective @invisible_dust None of this would have been possible without our incredible partners and collaborators: @avivainvestors @co_re.london @futurecity_culture @invisible_dust @easterncityldn . Thank you for believing in this vision and helping us bring it to life. And to every visitor, artist, and supporter, you made Seed130 what it was! Your curiosity, conversations, and creativity filled this space with energy and purpose. 💬 We’d love to hear what Seed130 meant to you—click the link in our bio to share your reflections. Here’s to transformation, collaboration, and the next chapter… 🌱

Constable painted when a storm was coming... 'Turner & Constable Rivals & Originals' exhibition opens today at #TateBritain, in the 250th year of their births. "The art critics of the day compared their paintings to a clash of ‘fire and water’. With the two painters vying for success through very different but equally bold approaches, the scene was soon set for a heady rivalry within the competitive world of landscape art." @tate In @RaqsMediaCollective ’s 'Cloud Messengers' exhibition @_seed130 a painting by John Constable is referenced in relation to Britain’s own history of weather observation and imagination. Skies have always been a mirror for uncertainty. *Final week* 'Cloud Messengers' @raqsmediacollective Seed130, Fenchurch Street, City of London, EC3M 5LY Open Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday, 12–7pm (closing 2 December) Curated by @AliceWSharp & @JeanineLGriffin of @Invisible_Dust , supported by a partnership with @Futurecity_culture and @FrithStreetGallery Find out more about 'Turner & Constable Rivals & Originals' at tate.org.uk Images: Constable, 'The White Horse' (detail), painted in 1819 Constable's painting 'Landscape with a Double Rainbow' (detail), painted in 1812 @tate #Constable #StormySkies #Painting #CloudMessengers #RaqsMediaCollective

A key influence for @raqsmediacollective 's ‘Cloud Messengers’ are Indian miniature paintings – did you spot these 16th to 17th century paintings on display at #FriezeMasters? (images 1–3) Indian miniature painters used a rich visual language to tell stories: from epic legends of heroic gods, Mughal emperors and Rajput rulers, to love stories both sad and joyous. Many depicted the essence of the monsoon, with themes and symbols including the intimacy and emotional intensity of the season, and the bravery of a woman venturing through a stormy night, overcoming obstacles like lightning and snakes, to meet her lover (image 4 - Heroine Rushing to Her Lover (Abhisarika Nayika) The Family of Nainsukh, 1870). Visit Raqs Media Collective's installation 'Cloud Messengers' at @_Seed130 , in the heart of the City of London, drawing speculative philosophical connections between monsoon rains, floods, trade and financial markets and actuarial science assessing risk. “What does it mean to predict anything, when the only constant is change?” – @RaqsMediaCollective A new installation by Raqs Media Collective at @_Seed130 , in the heart of London’s financial district, traces the invisible threads that bind natural forces to systems of capital and control in a time of climate crisis. In 'Cloud Messengers', the artists draw speculative philosophical connections between monsoon rains, floods, trade and financial markets and actuarial science assessing risk. Part of @Invisible_Dust ’s ‘Forecast India’ programme, the work explores the shifting nature of risk in a world where rainfall patterns, river flows, and sea levels defy historical precedent, leaving us without a stable basis to predict the future.
