Through crackling analogue 16 mmfilm, Rie Windfeld Skou plays with the ‘architecture of nature’: the landscape formed by the body, the organism that is the forest, and the greater whole of which they are both extensions. With a lingering, meditative gaze, she—together with editor Caja Trier—renders this fusion sensorial and enriches it with the life inherent in the medium’s aesthetic.Burn-outs, grain and texture, double exposures, and softness converse with the abstraction of themusic, forming a unified, synesthetic expression.
